When I visit certain websites such as Cubs dot com, I hear strange squeals/noises from my speakers.
When I play music and surf, those same websites make my music all distorted, especially when I scroll down the page of certain websites.
Sites that have video or other flashing or blinking parts to them especially mess up my sound.
I have run dxdiag and no errors/conflicts are reported.
I have uninstalled/updated all sound drivers and mouse drivers.
I have un-installed/upgraded all video drivers.
I am not sure what to try next.
My friend seems to think it is my video card causing this problem.
I am going to try another video card(its an ATI model and I use nVidia currently) to see if that fixes this issue.

Anyone have any thoughts or advice as to what may be causing this?

Assuming Windows, have you checked your sound settings via the control panel? Maybe you have the sound turned way down on the computer and then turned up your speaker knob to compensate?

Are you using Windows Vista or XP?

Sound was one of the biggest shortfalls in system perfomance I experienced with Vista. I was sporadic and I learned later, a very widely reported issue.

Wiping Vista and replacing it with XP have solved all my problems.

Better yet, record it and perform all sorts of unnatural acts on the recording then play it backwards....
