This is the thread to discuss v2.2.90 being the last update for 2.2.

It is likely also the last official update for Maximum Football.

Yer but then Hey
there are more than one or two of us who are able to do this and that with this title
I see no reason why we cant just go on as we are

Yep there'll be those that jump ship straight away
but hopefully enough of us will be left to be able to continue what we do
I for one aint going nowhere, I fit here and get along great with about 99% of folk
it'll be interesting to see who stays onboard and where we go next

Yeah, I don't think this thing'll totally collapse. It would be kinda nice for the community to get broader access to the core of the game, so certain bugs can get fixed and other features could be improved as time goes on, if there isn't a successor to MFB.

There still aren't that many games that do what MFB does, updated or not.

The key is the league databases. Around this key you can build an entire manager (coaching) game. You need these databases only to have access to the 3D game and only then you have to export all the relevant data (players, depth charts etc). So it is possible to create more positons (the play editor knows already a FB and Safties). This would mean that you must create new databases but this allows much more flexibility. It is then even possible to store game stats, season stats and career stats. The possibilites are endless.

But there are still certain limitations that we're stuck with, like WR reverse passes, (genuine) options, numbers on helmets...

And there are still some things that could use improvement, like player animations and weather conditions.

not sure I'm reading that right Tillius
when you say more positions............

are you saying I could create proper D-Ends and DT's as opposed to to the general term D-line ?????

I think Tullius may mean we could have a separate program create and handle positions that arent in Max, they might have to be put back in the database as what Max needs, but you could create safeties and corners separate. They could have different ratings to relate to what they do, and you could put them in the depth chart where they should go. The depth chart is also in the database.

A talented person, could create a program that did everything, with total GM features to even simming games. The only reason you would even need MaxFB would be to play out games.
Example, if you could make EAs NFL Head Coach use a MaxFB league database, well...that would be cool.

I dont know about you but I find it way too long winded,

I'll have it ready in an Hour.............. OK Brother................hahahahaha............we wish

Well, I don't know about the veterans here, but this newbie's hooked. I purchased this title about a week ago and have since brought about half a dozen friends and co-workers on board (They're also hooked). I realize that I haven't suffered through the growing pains of Maximum Football, like some of you guys, but better late than never.

Welcome to the Maximum Football community.

I think you'll find a pretty good group here.

Have fun!

Hey guys posted in earlier in the thread where everything got deleted. I had taken some time away form MFB the past few months, but would always come by and check on the progress. It's great to see David, Matrix, and all the testers get this last patch out. There had been a couple of issues that had disheartened my expereience, and left me setting MFB aside. For example, the inclusion of a Play Group tester should really help ensure playbooks are built the way they should be. It's such a critical thing for this game to have good playbooks, that call the right plays.

I also should be able to crank out a new NCAA league fairly quickly, with this year's current rosters and pretty accurate ratings. If anyone is interested shoot me a PM.

Thanks again to everyone involved.

Come to think of it, there's still a lot left on the horizon in terms of content for MFB. There's still things like stadiums, leagues and playbooks that still can be added

(BTW, I am well aware of the fact that the Germans did not bomb Pearl Harbor...)

I feel terribly sorry for anyone who doesn't know where that quote came from. That movie is required viewing (and not the edited for TV version either, the real version)...or at least it should be.

Well, despite the lack of confidence, and all around negativity eminating from Mykal, CFL stadiums are possible...I have just been working on some shortcuts to help me avoid the crash problem, or at least lessen the crying and head smashing on desk reaction I get from it. Plus, if I created the stadiums, maybe a few of the other stadium builders who dont have problems with crashing, could just go in and apply the fan textures for me. Thats where the biggest problem has been.

I would definately be open to any sort of group project to create NFL/CFL stadiums. I would start there because there are just too many NCAA stadiums. We can start and complete the CFL and NFL in a decent amount of time.

These sure wouldnt be Madden quality, but they would be 'reasonable facsimilies'.

We all know Mykal has 'phat' graphical skills.....so with his assistance, the stadiums would definately look good.

And Mykal, you know im just joking about the LOC and negativity, hence the
