WITP= I FREQUENTLY get booted out to the desk top when i click on the exit button (exiting out of intel screen, when im done making a convoy or when i save the game!)

i have installed all of the updates for the game, i have a new alien computer ( well a 4 month old computer.) i have updated the sound and video drivers 512 mb video memory and 3gb of computer memory a 3.1 cpu. at first it only did that once and awhile but when i get into 1945 in the game it nearly happens every other turn. i usually dont close down what ever is running in the background could that be my problem?

That is very probably the issue here, but the crash-on-hitting-exit is a known bug. There's no real fix for it, except counting to five slowly before clicking on it.
