And now for some close-ups. First of all we had some movement just north of Leningrad. The Finns are pressing to the southeast:

This shot shows the south end of the Stalin line and how it's being cleared out and the Panzers are semi-slowly pressing to the east. The Romanians are assisting in clearing out the river defenders in the south of this shot.

I calculate that the Axis forces destroyed some 27 Soviet units in turn 6: 25 inf types and 2 AT/AA guns.

Curt has moved his aircraft to the forward areas and we're getting into furballs. This air report is before I started moving units at the beginning of turn 8 and is undoubtedly inaccurate but does reflect that we're starting the air war in earnest.

There was a lot of Soviet interdiction going on as I moved my units, brave airmen those Soviet airmen. Here's the end-of-turn air briefing report showing that I shot down more than a few of his interdictors. When I'm acting as the Soviet in an FITE contest I usually leave my air power safely in the environs of Moscow until the Axis gets close to Kiev and or Leningrad and I noticed that Curt has flown a lot of fighters etc. into the surburbs of Leningrad.
