Imagine if I would do that --> loss rate 60%+... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sub attack at 48,100 Japanese Ships SS I-39 Allied Ships AK John Bartram, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage DE Austin DE Jaccard Allied ground losses: 28 casualties reported near Townsville, a troop convoy is attacked, the medium sized AK should be sunk... only two escorts, looks like an emergency TF set up to bring more troops to Townsville to defend the base against my assault... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Townsville Japanese Deliberate attack Attacking force 247667 troops, 2577 guns, 23 vehicles, Assault Value = 4962 Defending force 95613 troops, 660 guns, 451 vehicles, Assault Value = 1641 Japanese engineers reduce fortifications to 8 Japanese max assault: 4904 - adjusted assault: 2113 Allied max defense: 1638 - adjusted defense: 1738 Japanese assault odds: 1 to 1 (fort level 8) Japanese Assault reduces fortifications to 8 Japanese ground losses: 3578 casualties reported Guns lost 247 Vehicles lost 8 Allied ground losses: 2665 casualties reported Guns lost 66 Vehicles lost 9 that doesnīt look too bad, but the forts were already at 9 again... what can I say, when I will attack the next time, the forts will again be at 9. Means the base is impossible to take. Maginot line, boom, kaput, Allied engineers, one week --> new Maginot line... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Khomsomalsk Japanese Deliberate attack Attacking force 44663 troops, 503 guns, 14 vehicles, Assault Value = 1287 Defending force 15156 troops, 48 guns, 36 vehicles, Assault Value = 84 Japanese engineers reduce fortifications to 6 Japanese max assault: 881 - adjusted assault: 540 Allied max defense: 89 - adjusted defense: 1213 Japanese assault odds: 0 to 1 (fort level 6) Japanese ground losses: 92 casualties reported Guns lost 9 Vehicles lost 1 Allied ground losses: 78 casualties reported Vehicles lost 1 so what about that? This is the perfect example of what Iīm saying all the time: Try to defend with your troops in the mountains. Only an urban hex is better. There are five units reported with one unit obviously being a HQ as it didnīt show up in the combat replay. Two of the four remaining units didnīt have any assault value, only two defending base forces seem to have something like 40 av. This coupled with the mountain hex and level 6 forts lead to an adjusted av of 1213!!! Not bad if your base av gets multiplied by 13.62. That way two base forces can easily hold against four attacking IJA divisions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Kweiyang Japanese Bombardment attack Attacking force 22639 troops, 267 guns, 7 vehicles, Assault Value = 3482 Defending force 326493 troops, 993 guns, 5 vehicles, Assault Value = 8881 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Blagoveshchensk Japanese Bombardment attack Attacking force 5336 troops, 54 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 1874 Defending force 87198 troops, 985 guns, 315 vehicles, Assault Value = 1495 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Iman Japanese Bombardment attack Attacking force 20985 troops, 201 guns, 2 vehicles, Assault Value = 1248 Defending force 63576 troops, 655 guns, 224 vehicles, Assault Value = 1217 Allied ground losses: 6 casualties reported -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Kuysyshevka Japanese Shock attack Attacking force 16060 troops, 207 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 330 Defending force 2278 troops, 10 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 39 Japanese max assault: 568 - adjusted assault: 230 Allied max defense: 40 - adjusted defense: 40 Japanese assault odds: 5 to 1 (fort level 3) Japanese forces CAPTURE Kuysyshevka base !!! Japanese ground losses: 51 casualties reported Guns lost 2 Allied ground losses: 1625 casualties reported Guns lost 6 we take Kurishevka (base South of Blagoveshchensk) with an attacking IJA div versus one defending Russian base force. The base force surrendered and we scored 42 points for ground losses today, now at 25.996. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Chungking Japanese Bombardment attack Attacking force 22891 troops, 255 guns, 17 vehicles, Assault Value = 1294 Defending force 126550 troops, 215 guns, 11 vehicles, Assault Value = 2476 Allied ground losses: 6 casualties reported -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Iman Allied Bombardment attack Attacking force 50644 troops, 598 guns, 181 vehicles, Assault Value = 1217 Defending force 61647 troops, 522 guns, 3 vehicles, Assault Value = 1248 Japanese ground losses: 42 casualties reported Guns lost 3 Vehicles lost 1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Townsville Allied Bombardment attack Attacking force 67179 troops, 551 guns, 11 vehicles, Assault Value = 1547 Defending force 236443 troops, 2181 guns, 5 vehicles, Assault Value = 4452
