I'm glad that I can play the game under 1680 x 1050 resolution on the actual battle screen, but I'm wandering why I can't run the campaign screen or the other menus under this resolution.. ?

Beacause they would stretch horribly.

Well that's already a problem... it's stretched to the point where it's at times difficult to tell what's what.
When I first heard Wacht announced, I was hoping this would be addressed.

Oh well, great game either way.

What is stretched?

Do you have a screen shot.

There should be no stretching

Ramcatm,

Check your video scaling options. Below is the nvidia control which will allow to control what happens on lower resolution images. If you use the fixed-aspect ratio the image should not be distorted.

Tejszd, unfortunately, I do not see that option any where in my nVidia control panel.
I believe this would solve many of my woes playing older games if I could find/use this option. I'm using a Geforce GTX 260, if that helps...

Any way, Andrew, here's a screen shot.

Hmm... it doesn't like quite as bad there as it actually does... odd.

Just imagine that screenshot stretched into 1680 x 1050 resolution, I guess.

For Windows XP;
- Right click on your desktop
- Select properties
- Select Settings
- Select Advanced
- Select the tab for your video card
- Click on Start Nvidia Control Panel
- Click on Change Flat Panel Settings

I'm using Windows Vista and, alas, I do not see any option for "Change Flat Panel Settings".

Windows Vista changed a lot of things from XP making the new Vista user quite in the dark when it comes to finding features and options that he/she has gotten used to in older Windows versions. One such feature is the Display Properties. If you right-click on your desktop wallpaper, you might confused where that old Display Properties went. For Vista, you get the “Personalize” option in the context menu. This replaces the Display Properties of old and here’s the lowdown on the options:
  • Window Color and Appearance - Change the color of windows. Has a nice collection of color sets to choose from. Even has a color intensity slider.
  • Desktop Background - Default wallpapers can be boring so customize your look with this.
  • Screen Saver - Pretty much self-explanatory. I’m not a big fan of screen savers so the default works nicely for me.
  • Sounds - Previously hidden with Control Panel, now you can easily change the way emptying the Recycle Bin sounds through this option. Still pretty much the same, though except for its availability in the Personalize window.
  • Mouse Pointers - If you want to change your how your mouse pointer looks, this is your menu. Again, I’ve a default fan.
  • Themes - Lets you switch between Windows Vista Basic, Standard (Aero), and Classic. So if you miss the old Windows 98 look, fire up Windows Classic by all means.
  • Display Settings - The same old display settings that lets you tweak the resolution, DPI and monitor/desktop layout.

From the above select "Display settings"

Thanks. For some reason, it appears my computer thinks I have two monitors...

Either way, I still can't find any option for scaling.

The interface screens can't be scaled/stretched...it's locked at 800x600 (the WAR specs saying the screens are at 1024x768 are misleading).
I'm still hoping for a patch to enable scaling (like CC4-CC5)...some people might hate the stretched, grainy distorted look...but some actually prefer this.  At 1280x1024 the interface is still very presentable...and we get to see the Team Icons, Weapons, Rank graphics, Medals, Stratmap etc more clearly.

SQUID

Ramcat has a problem with a squashed and distorted display.

Your advice , though well intentioned, is misleading and off the point.

thanks

Squad is partially correct with my problem, as previously mentioned, the main interfaces outside of the battle screen are stretched and appear grainy.
Also, during the boot-camp missions, the screen seems to veer off to the left with a black bar on the right. I'm thinking it may be
time for a new monitor, as my current one doesn't seem to support DVI or HDI (which I believe is the reason I cannot scale my games).

This may be bit of a long shot, but... is it possible to run this game windowed?

Sorry, Shreckie...but based on the first post on this thread I'm not off the point
The screenshot Ramcat posted though...strange to see that boxed interface screen off centre like that.

Ramcat, if your screens are stretched and grainy you are the only person that has it like this. From your screen shot I can't see this at all, it looks centered and the correct size, so I am trying to work out what your problem is.

Squadleader wants his screen stretched and grainy and wants us to change the code so that can happen..... perhaps you two can swap installations??

Ramcat,

You're screen shot seems perfect.

Which part of it do you feel is distorted or stretched?

The image has been resized by the image hoster, but, like I said, stretch that image to 1680 x 1050 resolution and you'll see my predicament.

Select Control Panel and switch to classic view. Then open the NVIDIA control panel

Is the SE2209W a Seanix flatscreen ? I have never found so less information using google and se2209W ;)
The reason I ask is because maybe a driver which would telling Windows/Vista that this is a flatscreen would help. Or what might be different is that I connected my graphic card via DVI so that Vista/Nvidia knows from this connection typ that it must be a flatscreen ???

It is a Seanix flatscreen. Oddly, I've never noticed the CRT bit under the "Move CRT screen position"... I guess my brain just always replaced CRT with LCD. But now that I know the problem, I tried finding a driver for my monitor but alas.. I cannot even find one on the official website. Unfortunately, I've also lost my installation disc for this. :(

Well, I bought a new monitor today (not solely for this, but for other reasons  ). It's a LG 22" widescreen LCD, and obviously it was a success seeing as how it's now listed under it's brand/model name in nVidia options (instead of generic pnp monitor) but alas, I still do not see any option for the scaling. In fact, I believe it thinks my new monitor is an CRT because I can still see the "Move CRT screen position" option there. Help.

Ramcat, I could only find some threads where people had the same issue. Most answers seems to indicate that this happens when instead of the DVI cable a vga cable was used. Are you using DVI or DVI with an adapter to VGA ?

The cord I'm using says DVI but I'm not exactly sure where to plug it in on my tower. There's two plug-ins, one directly into the tower and one into my video card and I'm currently plugged into the former.

Oh dear.

Make sure the cable is plugged into your vid card.

Heh.. erm... disregard that. What I thought was an empty plug-in is apparently also taken up by my video card (GeForce 260).
