Most interesting thread, as you already know...

I have question for Crocky as the Jap player, as this game got so far:

Has any of your ships and/or land bases got any radar as upgrade? How about additional AA mounts for ships?

Thanks.

O.

Well the worm has turned again the heat has gone on Rabual after daily raids from B17 and B24s Rabuals airfield is U/s now a US CV Tf is parked off Rabual my airforce responded immediately a launched massive raids against these impudent upstarts!!!!

Result 4 days later the CVs are still there without a scratch and 400 of my aircraft are now at the bottom of the ocean :( it seems nobody forgot to recall the fighter jocks from leave so my bombers flew without them

100 fighters against 150 bombers scratch 148 bombers and 2 left to face the AA of course no hits

Rabual maybe a bit tougher to hang onto than it was a week ago :)

Looks like we've seen the swan song of the Japanese Air Force.....come 1943 American Fighters have gained both quantitative & qualitative superiority over you - sorry to hear about the losses.

Unfortunately, time is not on your side.

Yep it all boils down to Rabual. My troops are holding on and Pearl just realease 15 transports (new patch is working). But they will not be here for 3 weeks so, Crocky the clock is ticking.

By my count - even if you put in some fog of war - the Japanese just lost a carrier, a few destroyers, and a couple of transports.

Bold move with the carriers........and back luck with the counterattacks. By far the best AAR I've seen.

You guys both deserve quite a bit of credit for pushing this all the way.

Hmmmmm Hiryu has been rusting in Kavieg for the last 3 months she took massive damage in a battle so had to leave her there with US subs extremley active around Truk etc didnt want to risk her..........should have known that once my air power got decimated around Kavieg Rabual Rick would come visiting.

Hiryu actually took 2 hits not 6 as stated in Ricks report but
98% system and 66% flooding damage I deceided to scuttle her :(
save myself 10% points :)

Funny but one of my large carriers is also sitting in a port (location classified) too badly damage to make it home.

And to make matters worse I sent them in to get the barges and the **** commander ran away. Just because of a few bomb hits.

BTW my last name is Porter and you should not pound my namesake so...

The battle for Rabaul goes on. The Japs tried to throw the invaders into the sea last night but they were fought to a stand still. Several Jap supply barges were intercepted and sent to the bottom.

Ground combat at Rabaul

Japanese Deliberate attack

Attacking force 12604 troops, 87 guns, 93 vehicles

Defending force 17824 troops, 189 guns, 30 vehicles

Japanese assault odds: 0 to 1 (fort level 0)

Japanese ground losses:
Men lost 183

Allied ground losses:
Men lost 184
Guns lost 1
Vehicles lost 1

You cant get much closer than this.:)

Now that transports are arriving from Pearl the supplies are staring to trickle in. The US air campaign has heated up. The Japs continue to barge in troops and supplies but at a heavy loss to the barges. A US attempt at landing more troops was turned back by heavy air attacks.

We are doing two day turns and are 280+ turns into the game. Check out the score!

Alas poor Zuiho was crippled so she had to be scuttled :(

Kid is pouring reinforcements into Rabual how long I can hold is pure speculation tho his major problem must still be supplies

US reinforcements have also landed at Gasmata. Soon the tables will turn and the marines who have held out for so many days will be avenged. The next report will be very different.

Hey Kid do I sense your airpower is weakening as a result of the all out air offensive over the last couple of weeks?????

Now if I can get some supplies through his damned subs things would be a bit easier
