Hi, even though the critics pounded 1941 I thought it was funny.
I do not consider it an attempt at history (though the US west coast was in a panic in 41) It is a much better movie then the reviews. Slim Pickens was great and Belushi well what can you say, he was so drunk during the filming of one sceen he fell off the airplane and almost broke his leg. It's Speilburgs biggest box office flop but only because the general public was unaware of it's context and was looking for some kind of 'Animal House' If you were unaware of the actual conditions you were left wondering just what all the fuss was about.
