Here I have a link with the equipment at december 16th 1944, also from axis history.

http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=4889

Looks like they actually had mostly jagdpanzers instead of mark IV. Maybe due to the habit of using assault gun and tank destroyer to refit normal panzer units?

quote:

Equipment (16 Dec 1944)

Vehicles
Panzer IV authorized 62 and had 51 operational and 4 in short term repair. They were the following types:
PzKpw. IV with L48 gun = 17
Panzer IV/70(A) with the L70 gun = 38

StuG III and StuH 42 authorized 41 and had 34 operational and 6 in short term repair and 1 in long term repair. They were the following Types:
StuG III = 27
StuH 42 = 14

Cheers,

Hi,

I'm playing the Grand Campaign as Allies. We're on the 7th day so far with my H2H - mate.

I'm wondering how is the forcepool balanced and is there a place where one could see how many tanks are allocated for Allies and for Axis?

The question has arised from seeing Panther BG:s coming all over against my BG:s with only bazookas and 57mm guns. As many of you may have noticed - in skillful hands of a human opponent, BG:s with Panthers and Jagdpanthers are almost impossible to stop without a horde of TD:s or 76mm Shermans.

I'm using the picture that Nomada Firefox showed in the tracking thread:

This picture shows that there are 17 mechanized BG:s on Axis side and only 7 on Allied side. How many of those 17 BG:s have the option of having Panthers and Tigers?

I'm asking this, because of the demoralising effect that his hordes of Panthers have had on my strategies so far. Still I'm not willing to look at the saved game and check how many Panthers he has as this would ruin the game and surprises he has still for me.

I'm just curious on what is the ratio between Shermans vs. Panthers in numbers through the whole campaign. Should I just be patient and wait until the whole campaign is over. So far it's not looking that good :)

I'm sorry to interrupt this thread, but I am having a problem when I look at the scenario editor map. I had a similar problem with Ageods WWI map.

When I look at the little yellow hexagons? If I stare at them too long they take a 3 dimensional shape kinda like a starburst candy in its wrapper. Or maybe like a base on a baseball diamond. Is any one else seeing this. Its driving me crazy.

I see Jim Morrison, Elvis and Jimi Hendrix playing Texas Hold'em. Hoffa's body is lying next to the poker table...

Schreck, I believe part of the confusion in the numbers for the OOBs comes from the official designation of Panzer IV/70(A) which is not understood/recognised by many western historians as what we refer to incorrectly as a Jagdpanzer IV. The Panzer IV/70(A) refers specifically to the Jagdpanzer variant with the L/70 cannon. There are some loose references to the numbers in several other credible forums/threads, but unfortunately not cited as to their sources.

IIRC, remnants of the FBB were sent to the east after the Ardennes offensive and wound up in the fighting for the Moravian Gate.

cheers

I don't know about any of that, but when I look at the WAR dektop Icon it looks more like some kids game animated snake head icon. With the CC being his eyes and the WAR being the mouth.
