Status: offline 		All being well and the economy finds its bounce sometime next year (I still haven't worked out who put their hand up and said "hey isn't it time we had a recession" in the first place), the proposed wargame release schedule for a few companies can be deduced and here is what I'm planning for the new year including current titles I don't yet own:

PC Wargames

Battles from the Bulge (Matrix - Panther)
Lock 'n Load Heroes of Stalingrad (Matrix - Lock n' Load)

Board Wargames

Commands and Colors 4 Imperial Rome (GMT - Borg)
Commands and Colors 5 Epic Ancients (GMT - Borg)
Washington's War (GMT - Herman)
Fields of Fire Solitaire (GMT - Hull)
Noville Bastogne's Oupost (LnL - Herzner)
A Ring of Hills Falklands (LnL - Walker) - damned sexy looking game!
Heroes of the Blitzkrieg France 1940 (LnL - Revenu)
World at War Blood and Bridges (LnL - Snyder)
World at War Operation Garbo Sweden (LnL - Idelman)
Nations at War White Star Rising (LnL - Walker)
Corps Command Dawns Early Light (LnL - Bogdasarian)
Corps Command Totensonntag - (LnL - Bogdasarian)

It'll be a year of finding what I like in a system, looking for quality and dependability. Hopefully with some stability in the economy, we can all continue to be awed by clever designers in the hobby we love. Happy 2009.

2. HOI 3.

That should do it for me. In a week I will have FOF, and JT Campaign Series. Those, along with the recent WW1 title, should keep me properly entertained for the next year.
If we have a depression, I may have to break out some old board games to kill some time.

Edit: I just noticed that Jutland (SES) was just released. That is a "possible" buy-not a must buy.

Status: offline 		Battles from the Bulge and the CMSF Brits module are the only certainties for me. I'll probably get WitP-AE if the price is sensible (I'm not paying forty quid for it), and maybe 'Les Grognards' should it be actually turn out to be more than vapourware. The 2 by 3 East Front game is another must-buy, but in my experience "2009 or 2010" means 2010 at the earliest!

From AGEOD, i have two candidates for 2009: Rise of Prussia and Vainglory of Nations (not strictly a wargame).
And i will probably get Stardock's Elemental open beta too (That's definitely not a wargame ).

COG:EE absolutely cannot come out in the waning days of 2008. The good news, though, is that we do have those ship graphics, and it won't be too long before I can start showing them to you.

Status: offline 		There all sort of wargames or strategy-games I would like to buy, but when do they get released ??
Take WIF , how many years more ?? I think thet are working on it for 5 years now, it will be old by the time it is finished, if it will be finished !! There is no news for almost a year now.
And WitP-AE was scheduled for last year, now no more news about release-dates , sounds pretty scary if you ask me.
Lets hope folks (and if somebody know some release-dates let me know too)

-That new lock n load PC game
-A few Panzer/Modern Campaigns titles as well as some Squad Battle titles and looking into John Tiller's War World II in Europe.
-Decisive Action(another from HPS)

Other 'non' wargames:
Company of Heroes Tales of Valor(Would like to see how this new ''Tiger Ace'' campaign plays out.)

There is not much info yet given the imminent release of CoG EE.

I may consider to pick it up as I don't own any napoleonic era game so far, but would like to gain more insight into economy, building options, logistics, diplomacy and how this title compare to FoF. The two beta AAR's are not meaningful regarding this points and after all I'm primarily interested in the strategy aspect.
