Ive used exel for dealing with spreadsheets before however the xml file in the game are not formatted as a typical spreadsheet. Wondering what setting in excel I have wrong. Below are two examples of the same file, one is what it should look like and the other (the top picture) is my present problem.

The Sheets were made with Excel 2003, I'm useing Microsoft Office 2007 to edit them. You can get a trial for Office off the Microsoft site, It's good for 90 days I think.. or was in 60. Eather way it's good for awhile and can handle these files no problem. Just don't save the formatting differantly. You can also with the trial select to only install excel you don't need everything so that's pretty handie as it takes up less disk space. I think there's a free program too that'll work but I don't recall it's name.

Much love,

You might be able to use open office. It is totally free and is compatible with M$ stuff.

Open Office's Calc program can't handle these xml files correctly for whatever reason. We've already confirmed that.
