I am sorry, I just do not get the lingo of about 90% of the WiTP posts. I am sure this is due to my low intellect. With that said, I am unclear of what is fact and what if fiction on the release date? If anyone responds to this, can you please dumb down the response for me with a time frame? Thank you. Balto, Matrix does not set "release dates" per se, but they have intimated that they hope to release AE by Q1 2009, meaning by the end of March. They'll also tell us when the game goes "gold," which will mean release is fairly imminent. Again, Q1 2009 isn't a "release date" that is set in stone, so it could always be later. But that should give you a sense of the time horizon. Me, I want it soon, but I'm glad the team is spending so much time working on the AI. As someone who plays both PBEM and AI, that's important to me. FYI, Erik Rutins and David Heath are two of the "official" Matrix voices on things like release times. If you see a post by one of those guys, pay particular attention. :) At the risk of having flaming arrows lobbed at me, at this point I think 2Q is the best we can hope for. The posts we are getting from the AE team seem to indicate that they are still debugging. I am sure they will not send the product to Matrix for review until they are comfortable. Once in matrix hands there will be some time delay for final review/approval, packaging, release run up, etc. Still I suspect we will see one of the largest 1st day sales for a traditional wargame of any type in a very long time. At $50 a copy, I suspect Matrix will gross 25 grand or more within hours of the release. It could be a lot more
