When I first saw it, I thought something was wrong and many games lost.

After seeing the groups it began to make a little more sense and I could still find what I was interested in.

Being a "geezer" too, my initial reaction was I didn't like it either.  But I will get use to it.  Also I have to admit that the old way was getting a bit unwieldy and cumbersome.  Those unfamiliar with a game by name, might have trouble finding what would interest them.  It also reduces the scrolling down time.  Hopefully Matrix will continue to release more and more games, so it could only get longer and longer.  By having categories it will be easier for people to find games of interest, especially if they are unfamiliar with the games by name.  So I begrudgingly admit that reorganizing the forum makes some sense.  The idea of drop down menus mentioned might be of some help as well.

The new layout sucks. To much hassle to visit other forums besides the WW2 Catagory.(All the forums I go to are WW2 except genral discussion.)

Ok, I didnt mean to sound like an a**hole, but I just dont like the new layout....

Participants in The Thread thread should be forced to navigate through each and every forum and thread in the WW2 section to reach that sinister place. Force them to rub elbows with the proletariat on their way to that evil star room. Have them log in at their arrival there with a 27 digit pass word.

In this way their behavior will be modified thus making the world a better place.

06 Maestro -I like that, very funny

Well, with the latest change the list is as long as confusing now. Why not arranging subforums abreast instead of among each other ? I thought the idea behind this revamp had been to give a better overview and reduce scrolling.

I just noticed the recent changes to the upgrade-excellent. It is well grouped and the various titles are clear to see-unless you are a four eyed geezer who has avoided his eye doctor for too long.

I am still looking forward to some "eye candy". Some nice colors someplace. Call in one of the Matrix Guy's wife-they tend to be better at that stuff.

However...

I get home from work. Check the forums. WWII forum has a orange mark, something in there has a new post. Under subforum JTCS, no orange mark. Further clicking reveals a new post in the subforum of this subforum.
Now that I have read it, no practical way to mark the subs as read. I have to keep going through the motions to check for new.

The linear (versus paragraph) layout of subforums is a great touch. The prior one made it all look to be a big jumble.

I’ve got a big download going on right now (800+MB). It is coming in at about 50kbs-not good. In an hour ¾ it has reached 24%. This is a re-download, not the original purchase. This morning I started another one (700+MB)-it apparently took 3 hours to complete.

I hope this is not a new feature of the new look.

This does not dampen my joy about being able to recover these games though.

The orange check mark doesn't go away now, even after I read all the posts in the forum.

One has nothing to do with the other. As far as the problem itself, it's almost 99% certain to be either your ISP or one of the links between you and us. Our store servers are not even close to maximum load/bandwidth.

I'll check into that, but this isn't the end state either, some more improvements in the works.

I think that the issue was already before and are connected rather with browser and cookies.
For me orange marks disappear randomly.

Well, having given it a couple days adjustment time...I like the change, actually. I think it makes more sensewith all of the 'like' products grouped together.

Yep, I like it too. It looks much cleaner and organized. Also, for a first time visitor, it would make things much easier to find their games of choice.

This latest setup is pretty good except for one thing.

If there is a new post in the sub-category of say Advanced Tactics the orange indicator arrow dosen't show. Only if a new post is in the main area of AT will the indicator show.

Similar to the above complaint, there is always a new post mark for WWII because of WitP. But JTCS doesn't show new posts. I have to click WWII forums to see that there are subforum posts.

At one time in the past I tried the My Subscription thing and got deluged with emails for new posts. Got rid of that quick.
