We AEeans are all very happy with what the art guys have done. Wait till you see it all...

With the full court press that you AEeans (I like that term) have given us it is obvious that the release is getting close. The problem is that seeing all the new units/ships/screens is driving me crazy with anticipation on playing the final product.
Thanks for all the hard work!

Understatement of the year!

Waiting for AE and the return of Combat Mission to WWII Europe is killing me this year

Oh well, once they come out I will no longer have a use for new games for about 10 years. Enough time to complete a PBEM as Allies and one as Japanease.

I...ah.... have to say, my friend,... that... perhaps that first statement could be considered... a bit of an overstatement... ahem...

Hello,

Are any of the large liners in AE?  And can we get a peek?

Cheers,

Any chance on getting a sampling of some smaller Allied toys? Especially any of the late war DE's, long range MSW's.

Thanks in advance!

Ok, here’s a Butler, Cannon, a Brit Loch/Bay, an Ellyson DMS, a YMS-44, and a Cockatoo AMc.

What's a long range MSW? Hope the Ellyson works for you.

Thanks for the reply JWE! As always, they look amazing!

Long range MSW is me trying to find a more technical term for MSW's with enough endurance to make long trips Is there a more technical term? Fleet Minesweeper or something?

Thanks again for the pics!

Superb artwork folks, all your efforts are really appreciated.

If I say pretty please, is there any chance of a sneak preview of some Royal Navy CVs?

On behalf of the artists, thank you very much. Ok, well Illustrious is in post #8, but here’s Hermes, Ruler, Vindex and Unicorn.

We'd love to, Ron, but the graphics aren't that different, to be honest. I just looked at the Porters, and there's literally three pixels' difference in one upgrade. That's it. Plenty of juicy AA guns and radar, not that much difference in drawing.

But thanks anyway, I found a typo in one of the other DD classes' data while looking at the Porters.

Hmmm, that's interesting....the late war Porters were quite different with two twin 5" turrets (Sumner/Gearing type turret) and one single turret (Fletcher type). Turret two was replaced with a quad 40mm mount and all the superstrucure cut down quite a bit.

Also even in '42 a few of them had their turret No. 3 removed.

We know, but remember how small they are. You can't get pixels that are 1/3 of a pixel thick, you know...

All right, Here's a Porter. Will not show total evolution of anything. These are eye candy only.

You guys have to understand these are just previews. we can't show totals of anything, we can't show the whole set af any ship 'type' or 'class'. All we are allowed to do is give a peek under the hood. Sorry, but there it is. Terminus is quite right, many upgrades, especially of smaller ships, are just a few pixels different from the base model. You are really going to have to wait for the game before you can complain about the art.

Ciao. John

When you consider the fact that WITP is just about the ultimate game for grognard's, you really can't be too surprised that there will always be complaints. It's the nature of the beast, you see...

Hi JWE,

not complaining at all, just wasn't quite sure what T meant, but now I see.

The complaint part is that it's a shame Matrix originally opted for such small graphics :(...but I guess we have to live with that now :).

Whatever you give us, I'm sure we would gladly take it as it is ;).

Oh, heavens, that was just a joke. Known Ron for years, and just can't resist giving him some gas every now & then.

Yeah, it is a shame, but then it makes it quite a challenge too. Being small, you can fit a lot of them on the combat screen. We'll try to show what we can. Under the rules we can show 'samples', but we can't show the whole Magilla. Have to keep some surprises under the hood.

But, here's another 'goldplater' - 2 models of Bagley.

I'm still amazed at the amount of detail you guys can cram into such small margins. Amazing really!!! The goldplaters look friggin' great.
