Also, where are all the scenarios? Seems like the stock is very minimal.
THANKS!

For scenarios: You might like to try the scenariobank:

For AAR this is more difficult to say. I recommend to go for the stickied ones or the ones where you are most interested in the scenarios itself.

I suggest these three for starters:

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1606454

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1723339

If you can work your way through these, you should be able to playthe game fairly well.

Well the manual is very clear IMO, if you know how to play the game that is... I know the manual has gotten a lot of bashing, but this game has so many aspects that it really is quite a challenge to write one.
And as how to learn this game. Well I sort of learned it the way I learned to use the Windows OS, try and error. You can read some of the AAR's, and try some small simple scenarios. But even so, you will inevitably run into things you don't understand... that's where the try and error comes in. I couldn't figure out how the landcap thing worked, or the seacap for that matter. I also didnt't notice that for instance units lost readiness when transported to another HQ. Or that attacking units from different HQ's don't get the same bonus as when they were from the same HQ. And so on.
But I see it this way, if it's easy to learn, you most likely will not play it for a long time. This game has so many challenges and scenarios that it'll last a while. At least till AT 2 ships that is.
As far as I know there ain't any bugs left in this game, sooo, it it ain't working then it's not a bug but it's you doing something wrong. Figuring it out how something does work is where this forum comes in.

having just learned the game... or started learning, I have a few suggestions.

Don't start with AAR's, they arn't really clear till you know the basics of the game

Search is your friend; play some smallish quick scenarios to work out how the game works. Every time play, try out new units and search the forums for details about them. I kept one browser on search for this learning period. Here are my suggestions for where to start:

- Play a small random map with 1 opponent normal AI and try things out. This is where I figured out supply.

- You might want to head to the north africa scenario. You get to figure out a lot about the tactics without having worry about building troops and sea combat

- Try a random game with lots of water or use a smaller scenario with water to try out navies.

I had fun learning this way and a single normal AI is pretty simple to beat once you understand how the game works. I restarted North Africa once or twice because I had some big revelations and I wanted to beat it. Once I had a fair grasp of everything I started in a few online games. You probably will want to post for a learning game and get someone who will answer your questions. After you graduate that, you can tackle the GPW and WAW scenarios. They are a little overwhelming, but I've had a blast starting to learn them.

Good luck!
