The battle across the Atlantic is under way...
In the Mighty U.K. stands the feared Mango Breeder. (Germans).
In the U.S.A. corner the timid and frightened Vitreum. (Russians).
Advance (me) : Delay (him). 5000 points.
Got through the buying phase without a hitch....kinda.
Since I have never played as the Russians, it took a scant 2 hours to select my forces of death.
In my absolute brilliance: (READ: I selected and erased about a million different units) I DO NOT HAVE any Forward observers.....
Oh My Stupid God!!
They WERE on the Recruit list General!! I SWEAR!!
Somehow I erased them and did not know it!
So I deployed and sent my mess to England via silicone....er silicon.
Mango-boy sets up and deploys and sends it back.
I take my first ever turn via e-mail and lo and behold, NO ONE DIES! WOOHOO!
Colonel Breeder is sleeping soundly as this update is being wired to H.Q.
I shall fill all in on round 2, and see if he will contribute to the memoirs himself........

Until Then Sleep I Must......

though I know you probably already thought about it :) when you hit that F4 function key and it asks you what type of re-inforcements you would like...best pick a motorized FO or two! :D :D :D
Other than that...Fight on gentlemen. We all look forward to reading your dispatches.

You get a 20% additional limit for reinforcements, but if you call any, he gets 25% of their point value, just as if he killed them. Then, if he kills them, he gets points again. Do you both have 5000 points?

Goblin- A Goblin says call them in

"Never reinforce defeat". If you call them when you're that bad, they won't make a difference! The computer gets 1:1 points on a meeting engagement, 2:1 on a delay, and 3:1 on an assault. Since you are a human, you probably don't need 2:1 on an advance/delay, but you should have shot for 1.5:1 or so.

Goblin- A Goblin says anytime;)

Turn 2 complete.
Still timidly searching out Jerry's location.
No casualties, but I did spy a column of halftracks, and a Panther way out yonder.
Put a few rounds across the halftrack's bow...just to let them know some firepower was on the map.
Sent the game to Herr Mango for follow ups.

Question....
When I start my turn, is there a way to "see" what happened on his turn? Or is it a pain in the butt??

You might want to find out how many he had, before it goes too far, if its off, you can restart. Or, you could say no reinforcements for him, just you. That would balance it a little.

Goblin- A Goblin wonders how you breed mangos:eek:

You really should post on my thread in the main SPWAW forum 'Screen Names'!

Do you cheat on a mango with, say, a kiwi or some such?

Boy this thread went a wee bit astray!!!

Goblin- Thinkin' about switchin species?!?!?!?

Okay....
I see halftracks and 1...no make that 2
Panther G tanks to the North.
still about 27 hexes away from their doom...
Took a pot shot and KLUNK!
DOH! Just a hit on the turret. But a hit none the less.
Is is damaged?
Can it rotate?
Can it shoot?
Time will tell.

Meanwhile, Downtown Metropolis....
A parade has started down the main road...
1 Panther G.
1 Jegdtiger.....Grrrrr.
Seems the Panther crew needs glasses...
3 or 4 shots to my watchful T-34 down a lonely road head on and....WHOOPS! I slip away into the woods.
shaken...but alive...Whew....

Who shall delight in the first blood?
Stay Tuned...

Goblin - A Goblin needs to break away from the war and get some action!

Oh yeah ! almost forgot this was a battle report.
shame on you goblin for side tracking. Anyway.
My lone sniper recon spotted a section of tanks a number of T34's and a number of bigger ones. Sent a panther to investigate and BINGO 1 dead T34. First blood. Although the tank ws left in a vurnable position, its scarfice will be towards the greater good.

All i have to do now is how goblin does not try and side track us again :)

Mango

Okay.
Actually shots being fired now.
Metropolis in the middle.
a dead T-34. A vulnerable crew.
A desparate rally AND....
A failed assault against the Panther G and a dead crew...

A probe by another T-34..Panther fires..miss
T-34 fires...Miss
Panther fires....HIT..Damaged..
T-34 fires...Hit.. Damaged....
Both tanks standing off...AT 2 HEXES!!!
Come On?!?!?!

Engineer squad in for a look at the damaged Panther...shot at and hit they back off to a hex next to ANOTHER PANTHER!! WOOHOO! This one is retreating for some reason????
An Cocky Ivan tank commander pulls in with the Engineer squad and makes short work of the panther....out of the LOS of any one else...easy kill...too easy.

Jegdtiger still sitting in the same spot as before....immobilized???

Up North...Infantry probe sees 2 more Panther G tanks. ( 0% down, 0% financing sale in Berlin????)
Went for a side shot with a T-34, and BOOM!
Dead T-34.

Also spotted a couple of King Tigers coming in from the west.

Thats it for now...

T-34 - A T-34 fires no smoke.....oops....

RE: Brits - No problem, take who you want.

This turn Was weird. Could not knock out the Jegdtiger with my heavy tank, so I backed off.
Hope I can Reinforce Metropolis soon....
Took out the first Panther with a T-34...whew.

Way up north, 2 German Halftracks burning and 1 with no treads. 2 retreating squads. 1 routed squad...they did not like their halftracks blowing up.

Mid map - another Panther in the trees.
He fired at a T-34, going in closer for a routed Flammpanzer, missed, The T-34 backs up, and Kills the Flammpanzer from 2 hexes away instead of 1. Luck. Give that driver a medal.

Pulled a stupid move with hasty mouse clicking and sent an FO RIGHT UP TO THE FRONT LINES !!!

Two Panthers scrambled to destroy it, and missed. So it gets to live for another half a turn.

So, (4) T-34 Dead
and (1) Panther
and (1) Flammpanzer.
