Same for me. Waiting either for FLASHPOINT: MIDDLE EAST and RED STORM.

Please, could you post some new screenshots?

Thank you very much,

Emilio.

I'm thinking this one is dead. There has been no word for quite some time. Pity...I was looking forward to it!

I hope I'm wrong, and I'm not normally the prophet of doom when it comes to upcoming games...but lets just say I know what I see

Folks we are far from dead. Just slowed down. We are getting the last of the ME artwork now so maps and scenarios can get done, but we are still witing on some of the dialog and spash art. Down side right nowis that there are only the two of us and we are working code and data and testing. We will get to the scenarios and campaigns in time. If you know anyone who is interested in scenario design we could use the help and speed up the schedule. Just PM me with your info and we'll work something out. Screen shots may be possible soon. We have held off until the last of the artwork is in place to show things. I'll try to be better with updates in the following weeks.

Brilliant news.

I'd love to be able to help, CD, but I'm not at all sure about what is required for scenario designing so probably would be more of a hinderance than a help.

Great!!! Those are really good news. Do you have any screenshots for Red Storm, or it will come after Middle East?

Thanks for the feedback,

Emilio.

Emilio,

No RS shots yet. It will be a bit before we get the European map art. There is a ton more stuff in it then the mid-east. Both games will use the same engine and editors. RS will package new terrain, interface skin, artwork and data. New scenarios and campaigns too. We were trying to get both together at the same time, but that is not really feasible right now. Time will tell.

Dredd,

Mainly researching Arab-Israeli conflicts, making maps, selecting, tweaking and naming units, placing units, writing the scenario blurbs and testing them out. Campaigns are basically a set of linked scenarios and take a bit more planning.

More info as it develops.

Well here is a short update:

Rob and Merrick are working away. Rob is debugging the scenario editor and map maker as Merrick beats on it putting together maps for scenarios. Rob has also been through the main game code working on AI clean up and a number of other tweaks. I've been out of the loop for the past couple of months with out issues (Too boring to mention here). I'm hoping to slowly get back into things later next month in order to finish off data related items and test scenarios. Merrick has also been adding in a number of terrain related items into the system. His maps are looking really good and I can't wait to fight on them.

I'll try to be a bit better with updates in the future. Things are moving forward just slower then everyone would like. Cost of being a hobby game designers.

Enjoy the holidays and stay safe!

A quick note. I shipped a set of green elevation artwork off to Merrick to do some of the ME maps not stuck in the desert. He is doing a great job and hopefully we will be able to start showing off some stuff in a few weeks. I'm still working on other items this week (being sick better then 1/2of December has killed my free time and every chest muscle I own). Man winter sucks when you get older.

It's a pity such a well thought out game system does not seem to live anymore. Couldn't Matrix step in and lend a helping hand?
Or could we get a status update at least?

Did you hear anything of cutting FPME ?

Until now I´m pretty confident, that it will be published one day.

I agree, it would be a pity, if one of the best tactical gaming systems would be dead.

It certainly is a great little game and is deserving of continued support. I would certainly buy FPME.

I have been waiting for "some" word about Flash Point Middle East, but it appears that this one is wayyyyyyy on the back burner or gone?

Matrix doesn't even seem to want to comment on anything about this title.

Hi guys. We are still very much at it but somewhat bogged down in the historical research end of it. The game is code and art complete but not yet data complete.

The latest update actually showed up on this thread a couple of weeks ago now - http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2612633 - so rather than rehash it I'll just flag it for you.

Just recently I upgraded my compiler to Delphi 2010 which gives us unicode support. The nice thing about unicode is that it makes translation into non-Latin languages a lot easier. We aren't doing any translations yet, but that is a possibility if the game does well.

There have been massive changes since FPG and I think you will really like them. With very little additional work we can bring the FPG scenarios into the new engine - the working title for that is Flashpoint Campaigns - Red Storm.
