Question for you JFB's out there. Has anyone attempted during the 12/7/41 moves to take Japanese troops and land at Malacca while simultaniously landing on the Khota Bharu side of Malaya? Object being to block the LOC to Singapore. I don't know if you can or Can't, or if there are HR's imposed to prevent that. Just intersted if anyone has tried it and what there results are. I'm contemplating starting a new game as the Japanese and wonder if such a move is, well, possible...

there´s the hr around of not landing on the Western side of Malaya as long as Singapore still holds...

It's gamey, given that it required the invasion force to sail by the entrance to the Singapore Naval Base.

I landed in Mersing during my game running now.
with heavy BB suport it was taken fairly easy, with only CL Kashi taking a single torp from air operations.
Landing baseforces in Sonkhia & Khota baru is something that comes in handy to supress air missions over Mersing.

The Malaya Campaign is a succes due to the landing in Mersing (and despite almost 1000 AV landing after turn 1 because i screwed up some of the movement bonuses )

Yep,

If you use the right tactics an Invasion will come through, if you send unsuported transports in they will get smashed.

OK, so its "Possible" from a game standpoint, but Gamey and only limited by HR's.   Which makes perfect sense.  I would think someone, some ship, some plane, would see 20 IJN AP's and escorts swing past Singapore on 12/6.  Unless of course they were all banged up on the Gin..

Just a peaceful training exercise.
