Ok, in detail, 3 Indian Divs in Akya, only supplied via trail, then cut off for weeks, but they don't suffer attrition and nearly no casulties in combat, as oppoesd my units, which are perhaps 6 time stronger by numbers. I do suffer attrition although I sit at a base and have enough supplies and support. Some Divisions had to be shipped out, because the had no combat ready squadrons. Combat resolutions shows odds up to 35 for me, but I suffer 3 times the casulties. They don't surrender!

I think I read already something about this somewhere here, has to do with a wrong retreat calculation or so.

But these Divisions seem to have an additional combat bonus. Their initial attack, when I was roughly as strong as them, wiped away 2 levels of fortification out of 4.

Anyway, is there more intelligent way to destroy them efficiently than attack with masses over and over?

Thanks for your answers!

Who owns the base?  You or him?

You have Armor in the hex?  i sometime find that i get better results if i attack with an armored unit, and let the Infantry sit it out, then if i attack with everything in the hex...

Well, they're not going to surrender if they don't own the base.  Unfortunately, once they're outside the walls but in your hex, you just have to keep attacking.  Frankly, it can take a long time (6 - 8 weeks, depending on how many guys are there).

Best you can do is to get good, well-supplied, fresh troops to attack with.  Hit him with planes on ground attack and bombard him (since he's in a base hex, it'll work, even tho hes not in the base).

But I still wonder hwo the readiness of my troops falls (just rotated them out), while his stand there at full readiness -
except of one Division which is at AV=0.
