Status: offline 		Windows handles problem.  Windows can only manage so many bits of graphics and other items at one time.  If you run out, the game does that.  Sometimes it happens when a program has crashed.  It can also happen when you Ctrl-Tab out of the game and return.

Restarting the game sometimes fixes it.  It almost always gets fixed by rebooting the computer.
