Hello All...

Few simple questions.

Did the plane or engine factories actually produce while expanding?

Did the production capacity depends on heavy industry points.

This is my first campaign ever.

Playing as Jap. I realize to late that factories in china were not producing points for heavy industry. This hampered the production capacity for planes or engines? in Japan.

Another abnormal situation is going.

Production run for Nakajima engines is 2800 and (2300 Needed) why there is no engines in pool.

P1Y Ginga is in production since December 1943 and now is Abril 1945 and only 16 planes have been produced ………………….how can it be possible????

Please some answers needed.

Heavy industry shortages....

HI is used for a lot of production items, incl. engines..
To make sense of the production system you REALLY need a seperate utility to keep things on track.

I can recoment the WITP tracker, the thread to this utility can be found on the first page of the forum...

Sounds like you have no HI, production depends on HI - so either you are out of Oil or Resources, are sucking all your HI each turn, for other things.

No engines, it is unlikely a 2/4 engine planes will be produced, single seaters first iirc.

The link to tracker is in my signature, but if you choose not to use this then screen shots of the production numbers would help somewhat..

My experience is that expanding factories of current models, e.g. Kates at the start of the campaign, do add planes to the pool.

The kicker, as I understand it, is that the R&D factories only begin to accelerate model introduction if they achieve a threshold of at least 100 aircraft per month. So if you only have 20 or 30 planes in a R&D model, you're better off to halt production until you can get the total above 100/month (in aggregate across all the factories researching that model), then turn them on.  I played several games where I can accelerate Tojo introduction into May by boosting production to over 200 planes/month in R&D mode.

From a lot of testing and secondary sources, these are my findings:

# Damaged R&D factories do not supply points, so a (1)30 factory will not supply R&D points until it is fully repaired.
# More factories doing R&D are better than less. If comparing just one 30(0) or 3 * 10(0) the latter is better.
# Larger factories do not supply more points - there is no substantial difference between a 30 and a 300 R&D factory.
# Factories that are damaged but Repairs turned off do not accrue points.
# Size 30 will give about 1 point per day... you need 100 to get a month off.
# There is no limit to the number of months a plane will become available.

More I could say here about factory repairing rates, (big V small - Yes bigger repair more often), but I'll leave that for another time.

Want to test this ? set up a testbed and 10+ airframe factories and run a load of turns

When you eventually reach 1944, your Industry can look like this:

Of course, you need to make your Industry an priority for it to be possible, but I ensure you that the production rate of 650+ Jack's pr month and 600+ Tonys pr month is very very nice... Eventually it is my goal of being able to sustain a production of 1000 Franks pr month... Of course, this takes some calibration but I'm convinced I can make it possible. The trick is to produce a few Aircraft Types pr month Only, Until you get a significant pool if them, then turn them off and start making a few other types for a month... then adjust as needed. back and forth between types, have the capacety and you can replase all your airforce on a few months if you like.. Also, by having abilety to make 500 planes of every type pr month means losses can get instantly replased, regardless of losses..
And, secure whole of India first, and also start making Industry, Aircraft and Engine Plants, and start calibrating all you need in Dec 41... By Early 1944 your Industry can look like mine if you like ... 427 000 HI in Pool, I did have 5000 Nakaima Engines... but 1943 consumed a lot of Tojos... The Tojo is obsolete now, but i'm keeping the factorys as they AutoUpgrade soon to Frank's. Need to make Frank Factory's to..its out in just half a year or so.. the goal is a production capacety of 1000 pr month ^^^ (hehe I'm proud of my industry.... guess you figured that out already...)

I have now just replased 500 Bettys... who now are 500 Frances.. so I need to rebuild the Frances Pool. Also last months converted All Zekes to Jacks, and need to rebuild my Jack Pool.. But you get the point... Thats my humble opinion of one way to get a working Industry.. And of course, Build up large Resourse Storages !!

When it comes to your question, yes they produce when expanding...
