ADDIT: False alarm on my lack of access to internet. I'm back home and it is now working just fine. Must have been work in the area this morning.

I sent Bill 42 last night at 9:30.

Just a headsup; when I left my house this morning I was not getting internet. I came in to the office today, but might not tomorrow, so it is possible I won't be able to do my turn 43 till Friday. Hopefully I'll get internet back up this afternoon. I think they might have been working in my area.

All the best

Could have been construction.

I have a bunch going on this summer down the road from my place a bit. Last week they took out a cable down there and my internet, tv and phone were all out for about 8 hours while Comcast came in and fixed it.

Does Austria think France is some minor nation she can ask to dance to her tune? Surely such an outrageous proposal indicates that!

Sir,
it was just friendly and peaceful (!!!) offer without any unbalanced profit. But how it looks, France is not looking for peace with strong neighbor in Europe ...

To all, I will be away from today evening to Monday evening, so excuse delay ... we will destroy Austria some days later

Brits are in. I may be a bit slow responding to diplomacy and making my move next turn, I have some relatives visiting from California. I will not exceed max turn length though.

Edit: Just saw Matto's post. In that case no rush I guess.

Has anyone seen the extra generals appear at their historic times?

I have already passed a date that I was supposed to have a couple generals appear and nothing.

I hope we aren't playing stock 1792.

I had one possible new general event-not sure if Murad-Bey is a Turk or Spaish. My next known check will be on 226 or abouts.

Murad Bey is Turkish.

If you do not have Murad Bey (supposed to appear T26) we are definetely not playing the all generals scenario.

*edit* just saw that he is not to appear in a few more turns anyway so this means nothing.

Well gentelmen; it seems that I did not receive Murad Bey. I have the same nine generals that I started with (the same listed from the mode-same as stock?).

It is unlikely that he appeared and then was killed-I've only had two small battles against single rebel units. I will open turn 27 just to make sure-if there is any change I will imediatly post that news tonight. I doubt there will be any news.

I'm afraid we are not playing the Generals mod.

Perhaps a review of the proper way to install the mod is in order-for the next game.

He is supposed to show up turn 43, so he should have already appeared.

I hate to be a buzzkill, but I'm afraid I'm not too interested in playing another 23 year game with none of the historical generals showing up.

I won't leave you guys hanging, but I would seriously like you guys to find or help find a replacement for me, assuming there aren't other players that want to call it off now that it's clear this isn't the game we signed up for.

Maybe one of the no frills or westphalian discord players would like my spot?

So where do we stand here? I'm fairly certain I already sent in my Turn 44, but not positive. I switch back and forth b/w two machines and email my turns from different sources too.

It really sounds like some guys are not "into" this match. Shame. I'm having a blast myself. I guess given this, maybe we should start sniffing around for replacements. Sooner is usually better than later, and at present NOBODY has really taken any serious losses and presumably everyone's nation has been run fairly reasonably well, so finding a replacement(s) might be easier than if we wait until after someone has been smacked around a bit and let their nation run into the ground a bit from disinterest.

I was having a good time, but had wanted to play the all generals scenario. That was the entire point of my participation in this game. One time through, marathon length 23 year game with all historical generals appearing at their appointed time.

Unfortunately it seems like that was screwed up by people either not correctly installing the mod or not setting up the scenario correctly.

To me it feels like I wasted a bunch of time already, and I just can't see playing the wrong freakin scenario for over a year.

And I agree it would be better to get replacements for me and anyone else who doesn't want to continue before the opposing power blocs are finalized and big wars start kicking off.

I will play for a couple more turns if necessary, but think it would be better to just hold off until you can find a replacement instead.

Although this is a let-down, it is not enough to cause me to withdraw from the game. This is my first COG PBEM game and my only PBEM game so I have an interest in finishing this. I am in so long as we maintain a reasonble rate of turns.

Sorry to see Mus go. Its nice to have a seasoned player on board. I understand his reasoning-and disapointment though.

It does seem like all hell is about to break loose. With this in mind, it would be best if we waited for a replacemnt player. I will go with what the majority wishes.

I am also bummed about the mod apparently not existing in our game, but I'll carry on regardless.

One of my games is nearing completion, and I'd like to try another game with RG's mod once the next patch is out.

Sorry to see you go in this one Mus, but I can understand as well. Let us know if you change your mind before we look for a replacement.

Maybe we could insert a general in the mod that appears turn 2 named Russian Guard that could be immediately removed by treaty so you can quickly tell if everything is working/setup correctly.

I might be interested in that case...

Anyways, sorry to bail guys, but I am fairly sure about it. Only reason I had signed on for another PBEM as Britain was it was all generals.

If you need me to do a few more turns I could, but I think most of you will agree the game is coming to a head soon and maybe better to get the new guy in and do some diplomacy before it goes any further.

If the replacement has any questions have him PM me.

...or you can just sit on the completed turn-whatever is easiest.

It looks like it is official that Mus is pulling out. It is time to look for the replacement-assuming we are continuing.

Have you heard from Mattto?

If you want my opinion, I think you should back up a couple turns before the Spanish Portugese war. Turn 42 maybe, I can't recall exactly.

That war was undertaken based on a verbal agreement between me and Ironwarrior. It wouldn't have happened otherwise and I think Spain is unfairly disadvantaged if negotiations with the new British player don't go through.

There is one rather major problem here though gents. We have written down our long term goals and while we've not looked at each other's posts, I am sure Mus' replacement will have...

HiHi

If it helps keep your game rolling I'll stand in for Mus untill you find a replacement, I have a lot of games on myself at the moment but hate to see a game stall.

Word of Warning though, Mus and I have very different ways of playing CoG and I while I would hope not to have to do anything dramatic untill relieved, I would insist on playing England as I saw fit, but hopefully very low key so as not to drop your replacement in dung so to speak.

PS Apretzo I did start reading the various AARs but have not seen any now for probably a year or so in game terms.

So if you Chaps feel thats a good way to go, send me the 1st french turn .rep & .sve and the last turn files, Oh, and please spell out in foolproof terms (me being the fool) just what House rules you may have up for this game, and I'll give it a go.

All the Best
Peter
