HiHi

Welcome back.

Franck I took the liberty while you were away to deleat the 6 Junk mail items in the hotmail account, my thinking is better to have them destroyed than risk some qurious person having a Looksee and unleashing some nasty contained therein to all our email adresses in the folder, might be an idea to do that as soon as they pop up.

Just a thought.

All the Best
Peter

HiHi

Any idea when tim will be back to ''normal''?

Current Medical opinion is still divided on whether Tom will ever be considered, “Normal”

A post last week said he was in London (poor sod) for a week but no specific dates.

All the Best

Hello,

Prussian turn in. I will be in normal mode now. Remember that my last couple turns were sent with good speed :)

I had resent it right after the first send, so that shouldn't have delayed anything, I'd hope.

Nah, I just happen not to be checking my mail all the time...

I did loose my glasses (spelling? the things you put in your face to see better) during the canoe camping trip... They now sit at the bottom of a R II rapid I decided to go trough swimming...

Thanks Franck. I am really sorry for my last week delay. I will inform you guys ahead next time. I was also less pressed, because I thought someone else wasn't able to send the turn as well.

I wasn't suppose to play the turn but I instructed someone do to my turn in my place.

This migth be harder for bigger nations... But I have so little to do in a turn that it's not really hard ;)

waiting on France and Russia.

I will see a show tonight... Will play when I get back if I got the files.

As Ironwarrior commented to me in a PM, "It feels like we are playing this one in real time."

Any chance we could pick up the pace with this game? The turnaround is painfully slow.

Yes it is and I will have to tell someone to play my turn again I believe...

I'm going camping tomorow and coming back friday late in the afternoon. I had hoped I would get that turn soon enough to send it out tonight...

I do agree with Mus... We keep going further than the 48 hours turnaround. Could it be possible to ask someone to play your turns if your sure you'll be unable to play for a while????? Migth be harder for you guys (because you don't have the turn until I send...) But it's easy for me.

Anyways do as you wish, I don't mind that much slow games... I'm just a bit surprised that we played like 4 turns in 2 weeks.

Sorry to report this turn is a "dud" of the kind we saw in Another PBEM from time to time before Kingmaker finally found out exactly what was causing that and how to prevent it from happening.

Kingmaker, could you give monte instructions on how to avoid this when he remerges?

Cant wait for the redo. I want to get somewhere in this game.

Yes, that would be great! The manual doesn't actually explain very well the process of combining turns, and I would like to understand it!

Here is the post he wrote about the issue once he figured it out. Try following this procedure and see if it works this time:

HiHi

Eric is on the case but in the meantime here is a C&P from another thread to act as a warning re the 'Combine PBEM files' process.

HiHi

OK here’s what I think the prob is and this can act as a warning for those who Merge the files in future games.

The whole merge turn must be done as a continuous process, from ‘combine PBEM files' to ‘End Game’.

So, if for example Visitors turn up, the Dog has puppies or the Lady of the house demands full on instantaneous ‘Fun & Frolics’ or whatever, you can’t just ‘Save’ the file as you would with normal turns and come back later to complete the turn, you have to go back and start again at ‘Combine PBEM files'.

All the Best
Peter

Oh. So the turn was a dud. Grrr. I've already posted a new turn :( I thought it was simply my stupidly done turn, that resulted in nothing happening. Anywayd Prussian turn 9 done (although useless). So I get my goodies points squared for sending in turn before I got one :)
