Turn 132

One of our cavalry divisions have finished, but we do not order a new one built for now. Instead we order the construction of a bank. We do something we should have done a long time ago, and order our forces to split up and head into various fortresses. This will save us the money needed for supply centres.
And as promised we look at the glory standing;

Turn 133

Some claims that we lost the previous war because we tend to think that someone from Paris and someone from Gascogny is not from the same country. Our teachers are now told to talk about NATIONALISM.
We order the formation of another division of horse artillery, and since there is nothing more to do, we look at the economy page...

Still noone wants to be the nation to plunge Europe into flames, so things are still quite boring. We order the construction of what seems to be the last lvl 5 court before ordering a new European map;

Yea, sorry about that but things have been a little more than hectic at work lately.
Anyway, here are a few screenshots to look at

Although we are feeling comfident about some aspects of our great nation, other aspects are a real pain. What worries me the most at the present time is our manpower (and this will not likely change due to Spain "owning" our breadchambers in the south).

Things are still slow in Europe and it seems like everybody is waiting for someone to put a match to the entire situation. There is a slight possibility that that someone will be me eventually.
But for now we take a look at our economic decisions. I also try to defend my settings as best I can against any comments.

Since nothing happens we take a look at the glory situation. Since we do not like what we see, we order our provinces to start paying artists and order more artwork.
This could also, if we gain enough art, also have a positive effect on our national morale which is not too good.

Since it is to be expected that war will break out at some point we are still expanding our armies.

Turn 140

And as requested we take a look at our armed forces. This does NOT include our worthless millitia, but only regular army units. Nor do we have any irregular troops in our ranks as we do not feel these to hold much value on the battlefield. France will only field real troops!
We were surprised to see our grand total of divisions not exceeding 54 as we expected it to be alot higher really.

The only thing worth noting this turn is that we order yet another cavalry division to be formed in Paris.

Turn 142

Now I am curious as to what the Preussians are up to...
Orders this turn are for the construction of a bank in Flanders and two art centres.

Turkey and myself are now busy plotting for the upcoming war. The big questions at the moment are;
a) Should we include Russia? It backfired big time last time due to ...strange... Russian actions, and it cost me my southern provinces.
b) How will Britain act? They have dissolved their alliance with Sweden, trhis might be because of Swedish privateers feeding of their allies.
c) How will Austria act? Will she go to war to aid her main advesary (Spain) or will she stay neutral hoping that France and Turkey sends Spain out of the contest?
d) How quickly can I take out Preussia? I will not risk anything, I will first offer them a non agression pact, but if they decline I will DoW them and attack them before Spain.

Preemptive strike perhaps? In following things Russia does seem well odd to say the least.If Russia hasn't started talking to you months ago than he has another idea in mind,is too distracted and going through the motions in game or simply hopes you and Turkey do his dirty work and he then feeds on the carcass.

Premptive strike sounds unlikely as the Austrian Emperor is away on vacation and the throne is filled by a friend of the Emperor. Since he really needs Austria to join in the fight if he is to survive this seems odd to me, it could ofc be that Emperor Matto has given his friends direct military orders, if so great, then I can STILL claim to be the one nation never to START a war in this game

Turn 143

The people all over France take a stroll out in parks and plazas and marvel at the wonders created by artists all over the nation. The people rejoice!
The art programme is ordered to continue as the Emperor hopes this takes the peoples awareness away from the fact that
two more cavalery divisions just finished forming.

The barracks of France lays silent, only in Paris are troops still training. At the same time couriers are seen leaving Paris at all times of the day, and other couriers in Ottoman uniforms arrive just as often. Something must be happening. IS the calm in the barracks just the final breath?
The French troops are also taught that speed can be of the essence when they are ordered to reinforce their brethren.

Turn 145

My army building programme is finished, although we still have room in our armies, we will now save up money before we go to war. Our art programme is ow generating +15NM per month and more art is being created so this will help us alot in the war.
Now I wonder what the British are up to...

Turn 146

Dispatch riders were sent out all across France, and in return thousands of men started marching into Paris. We are getting close, the armies are ordered to reform.
When we examine the French armies there might be two units that needs an explanation;
-The corps under Hoche has as a role to move fast and get around the enemy trying to sever his depots
-The army under Lafayette will be dispatched to Italy when/If Spain and Austria issues a DoW to seize protectorates there.

Russia, Turkey and France has agreed upon the following;
1. An alliance will be declared as will an agreement on shared depots.
2. Preussia will be attacked by France and Russia to ensure her quick defeat
3. Austria will be tackled by Turkey, Russia and one French army (One of the two main armies)
4. Spain will be attacked by France and Turkey mainly.

My oh my, things evolve quickly. We will have our war, and on vastly improved terms!
After some talking with the Preussians, they accept a two year Non-Agression pact between our nations, that means that atleast The Ottomans and France will march on Spain, and most likely also on Austria. Main target for France - Italy and our Southern provinces. Close to 600.000 men are ready to fight the Spanish, and this time, no backstabbing from the Preussians. Now we will see if we can change the history of Europe!

We continue to build up our art centres, and we have ordered another artillery division, this division will not arrive in time for the war, but will merely be a "reserve" unit, if one of our units are lost in war.

I had not kept up with your accounts. Was just reading Turkey's account. WOW. Things are really moving close to action. And now that you can concentrate solely on your enemy to the south things look better for the french

Problem now is that Preussia NOW says she will attack me if my target is Spain, not if it is Austria...
Well HOPEFULLY he will sign the NAP next turn, and then I will DoW Spain as fast as possible.

Can you have Russia come in and teach the Prussian the error of his ways? Seems in a 3vs3 your group would have the advantage,until Britain comes in and takes some spoils.

Or Austria could be blitzed and finished in record time,then handle the other two.

Just make sure your revenge is complete.

Well....Russia wants to wait another year atleast. We'll see what happens, IF Preussia signs the NAP there is nothing he can do anyway as the war should be finished within two years.

Sorry but forgot to print screen, so no pics for the next two entries.

Well, the Preussians finally realised that the treaty I propsed would not work for them due to their alliance and promise to issue a DoW on the enemies of Spain so they rejected it. I had really hoped they would not notice untill the treaty was signed.
They now insists on a non agression pact between France and Spain as well.
This makes the Ottomans and ourself decide that the first target for a war will be Austria!

So I recieved the Preussian counter to the non agression pact, I will not accept it as it is now;
France will not attack Preussia
France will not attack Spain
Preussia will not attack France.

This is no good, we must insist on a;
Spain will not attack France part as well.

Preussia has been informed about this, so we will see what happens now. The Ottomans did NOT issue a DoW on Austria as she said she would, that is a little worrying.
And the Russians decides to go on some sort of solo adventure again...They now offer a non agression pact to Austria and exchange of some provinces. This only makes me more determined that the Ottomans and ourself will have to do this alone without Russia, and that dealing with Russia is pointless as of now.
