Did the air strike possibly cause a morale break for the hosting computer/side?

Hello Tejszd,

We were both green still, but I (host) had the lowest morale of the two. Ive seen this now 3 times (2 in this GC) and it seems everytime it was near or at the edge of the map were the plane attacked so I wonder if that has somethg to do with it. We are using .01B so maybe its been addressed with the latest patch. It is frustrating to wonder thou if you call one in that it may end the game. Next time I will warn Bob and have him turn on truce and maybe we get lucky and the game can still be saved if it happens again.

Gz...

Turn 4, Day 2.

915th RGT/352nd ID vs 8th BDE/3rd Canadian ID

One thing thats becoming fairly obvious to me over last few turns is that map entry points don't give enuff deployment space to newly arriving BGs. My suggestion would be to do away with the neutral area and give it to the BG entering the map. As it stands now the defending BG has LOS into most of that area making it a death trap for the arriving BG to enter into. So what I think was done to help an arriving BG may in fact be having the opposite effect. Just my 2 cents, if anyone has a better idea feel free to comment.

Night turn, Day 3 (June 8th):

Interesting things happened this turn. For the first time an entire German Bg vanished (now it only had 1 team, but still?). Other German Bgs are also missing teams as well, worst at Pointe Du Hoc which lost several. Edit is clearly going to be needed in several places this turn.

On a movement note. I chose not to enter Caen from Basly and insted move that Bg to Buron. Bob took advantage of it moving his Bg out of Caen and into Basly. To me it was more important to secure Buron from that angle incase he pulled his Bg out of the Airfield as it offered me the best chance to still secure the map along with the Caen exit. Buron is also a very tuff map to enter once you get control of it. Had I not played this area so poorly as far as supply went, my goal would had been to enter Caen last turn. Now the Germans will be getting 26SS in Caen making it nearly impossible to take.

Wow. It's a shame this great game has apparently been plagued by so many bugs. I hope the new patch will smooth things out. CCTLD is such a great concept...on paper. It still has enormous potential if it gets fixed.

The bugs are pretty minor really. The airplane thing is probably one of the more annoying ones. We still aren't real sure why these random teams keep disappearing either. It isn't limited to German team either, as I know Pz had one of the two tanks in his AB unit disappear even though it had taken no damage and was in full supply.

Yeah the bugs have been more annoying then anythg else to this point. Although I must say that Feurer Krieg has thick skin since most of this has effected him and most players probably would have just said screw it and called it a game. So when he says hes not really playing this to win he means it. The lost at-gun at Dog Green cost him at least one or two turns on defense and there's no telling how that might have effected the game (so losing just 1 team can be game changing).

My main concern about this GC format is over entry into new maps. I am seeing a pattern develope of Bgs being wiped out after either one or two turns after entering a map with an enemy Bg waiting on them. Whats even more troubling is new Bgs entering the game from a Depot map under enemy control fare even worse. How can that be right? I literally suck at this game, so if I can take them out like that what would a tactically skilled player do to someome (have Bg routed in 5mins?)?

Our next turn FK will have several Depot entrys so you be the judge on whether there might be an issue that needs attention.

I hope that by posting this battle by battle proves worthy of somethg, else I guess its all in vain. I still think its a great game, don't get me wrong, but I just want it to be fair for both sides.

Gz...

PS: FK, I did edit the game file incase I forget to tell you. Added back 5 teams that I know you lost last turn plus I threw my tank back in (not that I plan on ever using that Bg again).

Actually I haven't played TLD since I ended my GC against panzerlehr62 a while back. So I don't remember all of the bugs we had off hand. I just remember all those maps getting split into 3rds and teams, especially mortars, mysteriously vanishing from battle groups. We never made it far enough into the campaign to a battle where the Allies had air power so I never experienced the air strike bug.

Overall, though, the game was a great experience and my first multiplayer experience with CC so I do have some fond memories. When I get some time I'll try the patch and see how things have shaped up since.

Thank you Andrew and Matrix for sticking with the game and coming up with a patch.

Carentan Causeway:

Night turn Day 3.

I./6th FJ RGT vs 502nd RGT/101st AB

Clearing the causeway will be our last obstacle to opening up a direct link from the Utah Beaches to Carentan. I expect a good many battles to finally clear this area so as it stands now the 501st will be on its own to defend Carentan (I don't think they will be to bothered by that).

On a good note, I met the person responsible for the voice of the Ost teams at BHQ and I want to personally take this time to thank him for his contribution to this great game.

Boy I need to get a timer of some sort that beeps every 5 mins or maybe find another job were I can sleep in longer because not only can I not see flags at 1am but I also can't keep track of time either.

End of Night turn Day 3 action report!

The quiet times are about over as we head into the early morning hours of June 8th. This day will mark the Germans best efforts to drive the good guys back to the sea. It probably will take the rest of the year to finish...
