been running tests all week, while I wait on the powers that be

boy, what fun :) 8-10 hours of letting the game run, to stop it and look for things I want to look for

to the good, one of the things it let me do, is see where some of the dispearls sites come in (I have all of that data down as numbers, but still much better to see it on the map) and try and correct some placements

been trying to touch up the map, alot of places were cluttered from before, depending on zoom and all, there is still going to be overlap, and each time I rework something I find other areas that could be better

(overall, just busy work, it don't change the game or hold back the game, but in the long run, makes it looks better, easier to figure out what you got (if you got the old game, look at the Ruhr, Hamburg and Berlin, then think about the map with alot of more targets on it)

finally, said the heck with, I want to play (err test)

drive you crazy watching the AI do stuff, so wanted to play around with my own ideas, but only messed around in Holland

good bombing, the plan looked good, and first raids got delayed on takeoff by clouds !!!!

so, damage to the enemy could of been better, but some of it worked out

(using F2 so only targets that were plotted show on the map)

again, while it may sound silly or stupid, these tests help, I was able to find a airfield that had a number backward (hey it was spelt right) that comes in about 240 turns down range

did alot of touching up of the LW production/Upgrades

made some changes, that effect this area

G.55 takes two Fiat Engines to make one plane (that was one of the major issues with the plane, they couldn't get enough engines, when I set up a model that was HARD to build for this or that reason, I have been making it use more engines to show this)

last couple of runs, the AI has been able to keep some 109G-6 in stock, going into D-Day, that is major

now, a player is going to do what they can, to stop the LW from doing this, the AI, just does what it is told to do

first two VIIIth raids had one FG and 2 Spit Squadrons for protection, 3rd raid had only had a FG

which left a FG open

odd part of the day, Goodson, crashed his damaged Jug on the runway, and didn't make it, but I guess the plane did

so didn't lose a Jug today, but I lost a good Ace

I guess he had a heart attack on landing. I am sure you would rather have the ace than the plane. Planes in the old BTR were usually replaceable. Aces take much more time to build.

will say

I am normally the type (at least vs the AI) that I plot alot of very early morning raids, and then call it a day, but this time, I sent out a ton of recon, and waiting until most of it was done, before starting out

think it confused the AI to a bit, it was slow to react, but then it reacted well, and hit me good

4th and 56th were out on sweeps and didn't run into a jackpot

78th did a lot of back and forthing

the 353rd got hit HARD at the start, then bounced the 110s sneaking in, Beckham had a real big day, nailing 4

had a late day raid, will good protection, but both sides looked tired and didn't really want to play anymore, losses were light

what was the oddity of the day, had sent out my Mustang I and IA's out on sweeps (had a large sweep, hunting the 520's)

168 and 268 caught a few 190s limping home, and nailed them, but as they started to break off, they ran into the 520s the others had missed, and had a royal furball, with the 520's coming out on top !

and then to add fuel to the fire, as the 520s turned for home, headed towards two different bases, the other Mustangs gave up the sweep and headed home, and ran right into a buzzsaw, they did, do better then the IAs, but the 520's more then held there ground, and will be holding a party tonight, after the blackout sirens sound

(timing, as always, 10 minute later take off time for the IAs and they come out decent, 15-20 minute later take for the rest, and they would of slaughtered the 520s coming home !!!)

lost 10 Stangs for 7 520s (now, neither is going to rate on the top of the charts as dogfighters, the old Stang is still the better plane)

click on it, and it explains how Harley as one of the Wizards from Oz, spells different then I do

(well, I think almost everybody spells different then I do, but...)

the same as the Honor Roll, on most web sites, unit histories, it records, the losses the unit has suffered

losses after two days (with out BC or Med being active, half of 2nd Tac has been sitting out also)

the Allies Own the Coast if they want it, the hassle is, the LW owns the mainland, and most of the stuff you have to knock out, is on the mainland

But...

which, also if you notice, the LW (AI) will go after the fighters now, it is not totally blind and hunts only the bombers (more like like how a PBEM game would go)

baiting the trap

going to teach them 520's a thing or two

Bostons, Mitchells and B-26s to get planes into the air, followed up with the VIIIth, and more sweeps

(guess it helps if I add the pitcher)

hmmmm, the trap worked, but in the end, it was 421 Squadron (RCAF) who spung it, knocking down 12 while losing 2 (one to a 520 and one to a 190 that snuck in)

but both sweeps for the trap got some too, along with a 190 or two

bad part is lost two Aces with the RCAF and lost Gabby

(dang, my Aces are going down pretty fast)

(I know I knocked down at least 4 LW Aces, but all of them were able to bail and land)

I did knock out 21 tanks, one 88 and 2 37s with one of the PZ Divs

okay lets leave the spelling for people who know how it should be done and get back to the good stuff

been working all day with OB on the OOB stuff for BoB41 (alot of stuff changed since 1940, so it should in our game also)

notice anything different ?

ahhh, kind of HARD since you don't see it every day like I do :)

even better, 7 day campaign, day two and the AI LW is winning !!!

to be honest, I was starting to think this one was unwinnable, of course it is early, but in most of the tests, the AI is behind 100-150 points on the first day

of course, I wish it would stop leading off the day with the It's, greesh

ahh, they couldn't hold on to the lead, oh well

they are getting there

don't think it is the AI, as much as the scoring for this battle

Hey, HS what's the chance to see some production screens? What control have you over production, as Germany can you build more level bombers than it did historically? It would be interesting to employ a totally different strategy than the Germans, and see if the result would be different.

I got some tests running, so will try and get some screen shots of production in the morning

only the defender has controllable production, the Off player has there production set

From your screen shot, what does "strategy:1" mean? Are strategies selectable? What are the choices?
