So this amazingly accurate mod starts off with errors?

If you are going to stir, could you do it without flying the Australian flag? It makes me cringe. I have to start telling people I am from New Zealand.

Unlike many I am proud of where I live, and also live in a country that still allows people to fly the flag of their choice, unlike the place you choose to live.

I also hate the PR that pushes AE as being super-historical, but still has errors. Yes I know a lot about this small corner of the map, what other areas will need questioning?

The conversation has moved from 30 Bde to the "AE Mod"
Until VERY recently AE needed WITP,(Good to see comon sense put in place here) and it still uses the WITP format and much of the same base so its a Mod.

Jeff, for what it is worth, I fly the Australian flag in Austin quite comfortably. My wife and I get a lot of waves and laughs. I just don't fly it on U.S. special holidays, which only seems polite. I have rather less success flying the U.S. Flag at my house in Brisbane--until the recent election--that is. But such comments seem to touch upon dangerous ground and were not really my point...

If I may offer a definition that may set things straight.

A mod is generally something that has been created or largely created by a supplied editor. E.g. Nik's GuadMod.
An addon / patch / application / game is generally something that has been through some type of software coding / modification. E.g. AE.

mod? upgrade? who cares! AE is NOT WitP II, it is a modified/upgraded version of WitP. Either description sounds fine to me. Hardly worth fighting about!

JeffK asked WHY this particular scenario was not using historical start locations for some fairly significant units involved. I think it is a fair question. And I (as another Aussie) could not really see anything too 'confrontational' about it??

JeffK's knowledge of history is deep, but Aussies tend to be more confrontational than the rest of the world, and the way he asked his "question" showed, shall we say, a certain insensitivity to the situation.

True. sort of.... Aussies are not more confrontational than others, but they do appear to be confrontational to non aussies. I prefer to say we just speak the truth as we see it. We're honest. Others would say we are blunt, non-diplomatic, etc. I guess it depends what one is familiar with. We do need to be careful when talking to non-Aussies, as they may not interpret things the same way. Read some of the Raverdave vs Luskan AARs for a good taste of Aussie honesty - it looks awfully confrontational to non-Aussies, but those guys are just having fun.
