BBQ is a marinade, not a sauce. The Germans call their marinated deer a sauerbraten. Same basic ingredients, vineger, wine, and spices. Cuts the gamey edge. Bet you could do a wicked BBQ from deer meat. Way better than that goat crap you get in Texas, or on the rest of the border.

Is it of any benefit to put experts into the training program, now?

No, no, barbecue is a cooking method. Low and slow, usually with wood smoke as a primary medium. Venison could work but it would need to be well brined as it doesn't have enough fat to self-baste. I'm not particular about the type of meat per se, though most southerners will fight to the death that pork is the only proper one. Texans will do the same for brisket.

Good night - Tithe.

Early alarm for me in the morning to take my son to hockey.

The rest of the weekend looks particularly good for turns, though.

I'm forming a mental image of antlers sticking out of a smoldering oil barrel.

ROFLMAO!

Ok, short resume & some answers. Reindeer has a very special taste that some people don't like. If done right, however, it's indeed yummy.

Otherwise, for this evenings barbecue we had beef of elk, marinated in hickory & honey and then grilled over the embers of birch wood. To this was also served a green salad, a baked potato and lots of beer

Oh, and the poker went ok, small plus. Should have been more, but I overbet AQ vs an AK , against better judgement, and paid for it.

Evening guys. I finally finished downloading the patch and installing it. Now I can start my 7 Dec turn. That'll take a couple of weeks. I'm going to track the number of hours it takes. I'm tempted to start now but I have to be up by 5 am for drill. Have I said recently that drill is getting really old? My goal is to retire in June. That'll give me 22 years. Now to get a job....

You got it right my Martian friend. You GRILL burgers, dogs and steaks. You BBQlarge pieces of seasoned meat (take your pick)low and slow. I used low heat in my gas grill today to cook a pork roast (boston butt) for about 5 hours. I add some apple and pecan twigs below the rack for smoke. I was hoping for left over for lunch tomorrow but there were none. Six of us devoured the 5.5 lb roast (including the dog eating bone)

It's okay. I knew the rules of the game from day 1, and I take a lot of personal satisfaction from the quality of work I've shown.

I've handled tens of thousands of patient files, on paper and electronically, talked to thousands of patients face-to-face and on the phone, assisted doctors and nurses at three different departments in-house and at several other hospitals and private practitioners, trained five other people to do the job and done that well...

The list is endless. I saw a statistic for the hospital the other day, where the average percentage of sick days for the whole hospital was 6.6%. Over the past 12 months, I've had exactly ZERO sick days.

Like I said, I'm happy with my performance. I haven't done it for salary (which wasn't high) and haven't done it to please any of my co-workers (although that's been successfully accomplished many times over). I've done it so I could look at myself in the mirror at the end of the work day and think "good job".

With your language skills, have you ever considered doing translation work? I seems like you would be a natural.

Reindeer is tasty (I had some in Norway about 15 years ago. You can keep the whale steak that I also tried there). It's not gamey , and very lean.
