You know, Gladiatt, your comment about your wedding day "it was pure happiness until everyone left at 2AM" could be misinterpreted...

Termy, just curious, how would you like to misinterpret this ?

My guess is , because you make it sound like your happiness ended when your guests went home. I'm sure , that like most of us, your "happiness" incresed when your guests went home and you had your bride all to yourself.

What i mean is: how did he guess that HELL beginned just after this ?
Just imagine the man wispering "Help guys, don't let me aloooooone"....

I wouldn't know. In the US the tradition is that the Bride and Groom leave the party before the guests, in a big show. Perhaps to "get a head start " on "things".

Old Europe lost it's tradition . Now, the wedded pay for the party, and put evryone out at the end...so this way, we can pay the restaurant without witness, and escape after this .

Not everywhere. In Denmark, the couple leaves first too.

The RAFs most expensive plane has taken to the skies! Is it a new fighter, a stealth bomber? No, a re-conditioned 1950's airliner that kep falling out the skies...

HMMM, to be more serious: the tradition still exist in France, but it is more and more often that the couple assume the party, and all the stuff (except for the wedding dress of the Bride), and they make the "closing" of the party.
We had the opportunity to receive money from our familly to pay a good part of it....but we would had to invite people we were not willing, or to make things that we thought not OK for us. So we did it this way ....and no one complained

While that's a little bit harsh (the Nimrod hasn't lost that many planes...especially compared to Harriers), I feel that the major problem with the Nimrod, is it's name.In many parts of the world (The USA includes, saying "Nimrod" doesn't conjure up images of "the great hunter" --for us that would be "Orion", but instead an insult. "Nice going NIMROD", is interchangable with "nice going , MORON". It's a pitty , but that's my therory as to why there were no foreign Nimrod sales. "Hey guys, we want to spend billions of dollars (pounds,lira,ruppee,etc...) on a plane called The MORON.". It just doesn't work. So much for the marketing department of BAE.

On a side note, besides being one of the ugliest planes ever built , it has an excellent RADAR (Search water) which was absolutely the best airborne search RADAR in the world (in 1983).

We paid for our own wedding , but were delighted to leave early. Besides the aforementioned reason, it also got us out of clean up!

Tis not a matter of having a handle of it. More like erroneous results happening frequently making mince meat of my forces

I don't know. Ryan Aircraft made a plane called the Fireball. Not exactly safe-sounding...

4 losses (+1 written off post flight) in 40 years service is a good record. You won't find many aircraft with a record that good, especially not fast jet fighters/bombers.

I give the Nimrod a +1 in aesthetic quality for looking cool in that hideous Lancaster way (imho the coolest bomber of WW2).

You are quite right sir. Ugly is such an unkind word. May I suggest "Homely"? Not comely? Functional rather than attractive? After all , the British were well into the war when the Lancaster was designed. Beauty could not have been high on the designers list of priorities. The Lancaster was obviously the "less comely step-sister" when compared with stablemates such as the Spitfire and Mosquito.
