Have you made the appropriate sacrifices to the gods?

I find that a young goat and a pair of chickens usually answer pretty admirably.

I do have some relatively good news.  I've been selected for LTC, which really doesn't mean much.  I can get promoted once I move into an LTC slot.  But, I've got time in grade and military and civilian education all complete so I'd get promoted once I moved into an LTC slot anyway.  Gotta love the military way.

Congratulations, Soon-to-be-LTC Mike!

Gotta find an LTC slot first. Been waiting for almost a year for one. It'll happen (or it won't)!

Congrats sir!

I'm sure you can find an LTC slot in Bolivia or the Philippines.....or are you partial to the US?

Yeah , but Omaha Nebraska? Offut AFB?

I haven't checked any maps yet , but as I recall SAC chose that as it's headquarters as it's the furthest place from water in the USA? I thought Millington Tenn was a strange place to send a sailor?

Ummm....scratch my last post....but not the post count.

Look on the bright side. At least you'll get some peace and quiet.....lots of peace and quiet.

Yeah. Maybe if I sound pathetic enough someone will take pity on me for another PBEM. It sounds like I'll have plenty of time.

On the other hand, we never actually gone to the 1st set of orders given. London turned into DC, DC turned into Guam, and Korea turned into Bremmerton. So with my luck , next stop will be.....Tinker AFB OKlahoma!

Not sure about that place but seeing Hood and Carson makes one kick himself for not joining the Marines and at least having a chance of being stationed at Pendleton.

I have a new hobby....reading NYPD blotters.....

A 39-year-old man stuffed eight bottles of cologne down his pants from a store at the Staten Island Mall, law-enforcement sources said yesterday.A security guard at Hollister spotted Ricardo Parra removing the security tags for the fragrances, officials said. He was charged with petit larceny, possession of burglar tools and criminal possession of stolen property.

A crazed man suddenly hopped into a cab with a woman on the Upper East Side and tossed her $150 Calvin Klein shoe out the window, police said. The 25-year-old victim had just hailed a taxi on Second Avenue at East 84th Street early Friday when Matthew Courtney, 30, allegedly popped in and sat on her lap. When she tried to push him out, Courtney allegedly grabbed her shoe — one in a $300 pair — and flung it into the street. Both dived for the pricey footwear, and Courtney grabbed it again and hurled it over a high-voltage fence, police said. Witnesses held the suspect until cops arrived. He was charged with petit larceny and harassment.

Cops are on the hunt for two young women who attacked a man in Greenwich Village when he refused to buy drugs. The attackers set on the 24-year-old victim at Washington Square South and La¥Guardia Place at 5:30 a.m. Saturday. When the thugs offered him narcotics, the victim refused and was beaten. The bandits made off with his iPod, credit card, cellphone and $104 in cash.

Who?

Oh wait... A Wiki search reveals all

quote:

Sutton was interviewed in January 2009 by Inverness Caledonian Thistle for the post of manager, but was unsuccessful. On 28 September 2009, Sutton was appointed manager of League Two side Lincoln City, succeeding Peter Jackson who was dismissed earlier in the month. Despite having no managerial experience, Sutton was preferred to more than 70 other applicants

Best of British luck with that matey...

Indeed! When that happened to me, there were 5 big men, 4 knives, and 3 guns pointed at me.
