hunting season does seem to cut into my witp time though.

oh also ran 20 miles 2 weekends ago at a 9:30 pace.

Training for a marathon? Thats a good time. I am slightly slower than that at this time. Finished Baltimore marathon in 4:24 on Oct 10th. Raleigh on November 1st is my next attempt.

ehh i will be happy with a 9:45 to 10:00 pace over 26 miles. but we shall see.

Are you training for a specific event? Just curious as I am always looking for good locations to run a marathon.

In reply to a much earlier post the best stars I've seen were while in the desert. I'm sure at sea they are even more brilliant but the desert is the best this Redleg got to see.

Deserts are actually better than over the ocean if they are dark enough. You want no ambient light and very dry air.

Two things that surprised me about the desert. One, they are surprisingly cold at night. Two, they can be very wet and have tons of particles in the air during certain seasons. Who knew. It makes sense since cooler air decreases the amount of moisture that the air can hold, but for some reason that thought never occurred to me. Perhaps your Martian atmosphere is cold enough that very little moisture is left in it brother brush hat

They cool off rapidly because they don't have a lot of humidity to keep the heat in. They are always going to be less humid than an oceanic atmosphere.

After you cross the dew point they are about the same in terms of air saturation. As far as how much water? Well oceanic will always trump desert

The nights in Al Udeid were far more humid than I had expected. So much so that I actually preferred working days than nights.

Actually, "Mon crocodile" wouldn't be all wrong. The course which turns Majors into LtCols is often referred to as "the crocodile course" in the Swedish Armed Forces beacuse when the Majors finish with the course they turn all mouth and no ears ...

P.S.
We didn't go to our trip yet... The day before the wedding the main outgoing water pipe broke in apartment where she lived with her mother and sister. I managed to persuade her neighbors and house comitte not to dig that day and I managed to postpone it till yesterday. Now they are digging there and I have mother-in-love and siter-in-love in our care...
