Christ. It's just taken me about an hour to do all of the Phillipines stuff in GC 1st turn! Does anyone use those 150 PP's you get at game start to transfer any PI stuff to other commands?

But the game looks great!

Is my observation correct hat if an update need a port bigger than 9 or 10, it'll be put into the building list and it'll be required to pay for the upgrade/conversion?

Thank you all for trying to help me, especially Per and Simon!

All hail the threadbrothers!

You're welcome

Tithe...somehow "all hail the Thread" doesn't seem appropriate here.

So how is AE?  I still haven't bought.

It's wonderful, Chris. I recommend it.

You haven't even played it yet. All you've done is read about the IJ economy

Heh, you're right, Bruce. I'll get there eventually.

This is what my Royal Navy looks like at them moment These are, according to my sources, the camo schemes that the ships (or a member of their class in theatre) were wearing in December 1941. Regular grey is so 1940

I like that the Prince of Wales is already pouring out some from fires

Yeah, looked like that to me too.

"Forecasting"......is that what they call "doing the Allied first turn" now?

Played Coral Sea last night.    Marginal Allied victory.  I surprised and sank the Japanese CVL without a single return shot.  I then caught and completely destroyed the invasion TF over 2 days, but I think the second day was a mistake, as the 2 IJN CV's cornholed me from within a rainsquall, at 2 hex range.    Both Yorktown and Lex actually survived, with only a couple of bomb hits on Lex, but my return strikes only landed one bomb hit on a CV, which hit the armor.

The following day, both CV TF's were set by the AI to return to Noumea.  I'm guessing it was because both were under 50% of sorties remaining.  I changed their destination back to the hex they were in, South of PM and manually ordered them to remain on station.  The turn resolution saw both of them heading off to Noumea anyway.  If they had remained as ordered, I would have sunk one of the IJN CV's without any more losses, as they split up, and the one I hit with a single bomb was still within TB range of my original hex.  Instead, that one was only at long DB range, and I was within range of the second IJN CV, which was heading East toward the Solomons.  I landed enough 500lb'ers on the damaged IJN CV to put it under, but I lost both Lex and Yorktown to 4 unanswered strikes from the CV to the East.

A very fun time, even though it was late, and I was tired.  I am wondering what caused my ROS orders to be overridden, so I can account for it in future games, but I didn't have the energy to go back to see if I screwed up their orders or not.

Sounds interesting, Mike.  I'd love to try a scenario but haven't had any time.  Two days ago was my anniversary and yesterday was my son's birthday.  Just to set the record straight, there's a 7 year gap between our marriage and his birth.  Plus, I have drill this weekend.  I can't get in more than an hour at a time for AE.

Congrats on your anniversary, and keeping your son alive for another year, Mike!

Coral Sea took me about 2 hours, going slow.  The last thing I'm worried about is rushing to get a game of AE going, since I know I'll be playing it for the next 5 years or more.

Besides learning and talking about the game is almost as much fun.

Last night, my girlfriend was riding her bicycle without a helmet and hit a wet patch. When she braked, she went right over the handlebars and smashed her head into a steel post. Her skull is fractured, her nose is broken, and she now has over a hundred stitches. She may have also fractured her orbitals. Her forehead was literally torn away from her skull in places. She's going to be okay, but her forehead will have a pretty impressive Harry Potter scar for probably the rest of her life.

This week. THIS WEEK! I really am at the end of my tether.
