For anyone still interested - without the intention to restart a new discussion: It was wrong to start with "why do you celebrate germany's defeat". Every nation has the right and duty to preserve its heritage - and victory over Germany is one of them. While this day causes great pain to me, for good reasons I may explain via PM if needed, I was neither provoced by "Historiker, we kicked your country's arse" nore was the victory itself celebrated which itself shouldn't be illegal either! Remembering the fallen ones is a noble cause and there's no justification to assault this tradition. I didn't realized that fast enough and when I was rudely attacked immediately, I better shoud have deleted my first posting and have asked why the "attackers" behaved like they did. This was my fault, and that's simply a fact. I wasn't wrong in feeling the pain. While you remember your fallen, I remember what this single day ment to Germany and later to most of Europe (and my family). It was our 9/11 and Pearl Harbor together. Still, when anyone claims the others to care at an open place not to celebrate because he has some bad feelings, where will this end? Your victory was justified and that's fate. Neither you nore me are responsible about what happend some months later and that also doesn't dishonor the ones that have fallen! It would've much more appropriate to write something like "Honor the fallen, but this day was Germany's doom"... Still, some reactions I faced after this started where appellative. While I wasn't sensitive enough, others seem just to have waited for me to do something they can interprete as the complete and utmost evil - without any intention on my side. Well, I won't miss them to read my postings nore will I miss their's too much. But when a man was wrong - and I was and no harsh reaction by others changes this - he should stand by it. (Now I just hope this isn't misunderstood again... )
