Thee Discovery channel has become a crappy reality show channel just like the history channel.

I'll watch Mythbusters and Deadliest Catch if they're on, but I won't go out of my way to catch them. I do enjoy a couple of the reality type shows apart from deadliest catch, Ice Road Truckers and especially Salvage Code Red (although the series is done for now at least).

Looks more like Klingon to me.

Doubt it. No self respecting Klingon speaker would end a sentence in a preposition.

I think all Klingon speakers (by definition self-respecting) are obliged by their language syntax to end sentences with a threat.

I think youre confusing them with Vogons. Klingons can actually be quite civil if you can manage to pick up the finer nuances of the guttural grunting they close their sentences with.

That, in two words, is why I've stopped watching Discovery.

Extreme. Loggers.

I am still a big fan of Mike Rowe and Mythbusters. The other programming does leave a bit to be desired. The ghost plumbers? Tornado junkies (who do not seem to have any scientific approach at all, just an adrenalin rush)?

History is even worse. Pawn Stars anyone?

I think I have now watched the most ridiculous scene in movie history. I was sitting around with 2 of my kids last night as my 14 year old was doing a bit of channel surfing. She stumbled upon a SyFy movie ( almost never a good idea ) because the title was so absurd : " Mega Shark v Giant Octopus ". Geez. Anyway we just happened to tune in as a 747 jet was shown flying through the air. I wondered breifly what it had to do with the movie when low and behold, the Mega Shark leaped THOUSANDS of feet into the air, grabbed the plane in its mouth, and fell back into the water. Yes, the shark was many times bigger than the 747 Jumbo Jet, and it jumped into the air, and grabbed the plane and brought it down.

The special effects were atrocious, but we all were laughing so hard it didn't really matter. How does such a thing get made ? I assume ingestion of massive amounts of drugs by all involved is necessary.

International seem to simply recycle some of the better History programming from years past. I still think that series about the barbarians and the other about the great plague were some of the best History ever did.

It was. Battlefield, Wings of the Red Star, a show about German panzers the name of which momentarily escapes me, and other historical shows. Discovery used to be good.

Hello Per .
I am fine ! as the surgery went well, i think now everything is OK;
my wife is still in a bad mood (after her psy trouble: it's still not ended), but i am rather optimistic: time will heal !

And you, are you OK ?
