I leave The Thread in the somewhat unsteady hands of Brother Onime. Nighty-McNight!

Unsteady? You got me confused with Nik. I dont drink on weekdays.

Reminds me of that bit between Daffy and Porky. "Unsanitary?!?!"

Hey Mike!

Onime, when are you moving down here to NC? Everyone else from your state is or has.

Considering it. Long Island is getting mighty rough to live on.

So, which of ya'll oldsers out there saw the recent highly (and annoyingly) touted Prisoner series opener, and think it utterly blew dead bears, when ya compare it to Patrick McGoohan's Prisoner by ITC on PBS and BBC 3 (maybe?).

I wanted to like it. But it sucked a big one. I was disappointed to say the least and did not finish watching it.

Whenever I read a Lee quote in a book, I hear Shelby Foote's voice. Kind of like reading Chris's posts with a Stewie voice.

Got every book Shelby ever wrote. And watched his old TV programs and listened to that rich, thick, Mississippi accent. Oh, yeah, this is a believeable man.

I actually met and talked with Mr. Foote a few times over the years ( he lived in Memphis ). I have a writer friend who got to know him and was lucky enough to tag along a couple of times. This was back in the 90s. Very nice man, soft spoken. I have read just about everything he has written, 'tho his multi volume civil war history is my favorite by far.

Considering your obsession with ice hockey, one finds it difficult to believe that you are a native Carolinian yourself...

We have almost exactly the same here. It was well below freezing two nights, but crystal clear, and now it's 10/10 cloud cover and just above freezing. Grrrr...

Meanwhile I have to try and work out how to merge 2 helpdesks with completely different philosophies.

May I suggest threats of violence?

What about acts of violence instead?

I won't need to, it will be the users who do that. A dead PC will elicit a 1 hour response from us, from "them" it's 2 days. There will be blood in the streets I tell ya!

I hit the road out of nowhere
I had to jump in my care
And be a rider in a love game
Following the stars
Don't need no book of wisdom
I get no money talk at all
She has a train going downtown
She's got a club on the moon
And she's telling all her secrets
In a wonderful ballon
Oh she's the heart of the funfair
She's got me whistling her private tune

Drive boy dog boy
Dirty numb angel boy
In the doorway boy
She was a lipstick boy
She was a beautiful boy
And tears boy
And all in your innerspace boy
You had
hand girls boy
and steels boy
You had chemicals boy
I've grown so close to you
Boy and you just groan boy
She said comeover comeover
She smiled at you boy.

Feeling a bit retro today, Joyride was on the radio on the way home after dropping the Mrs off in town.
