Got every book Shelby ever wrote. And watched his old TV programs and listened to that rich, thick, Mississippi accent. Oh, yeah, this is a believeable man.

I actually met and talked with Mr. Foote a few times over the years ( he lived in Memphis ). I have a writer friend who got to know him and was lucky enough to tag along a couple of times. We have almost exactly the same here. It was well below freezing two nights, but crystal clear, and now it's 10/10 cloud cover and just above freezing. Grrrr...
