ORIGINAL: Grollub Maybe not Jonas Bros but at least in that genre After doing inventory of all crap applications/games/viruses etc they've managed to download and foul up the registry with, it usually comes down to reinstalling windows. That way it's usually ok until next Christmas Take a backup image of the clean Windows installation, and just restore it every year. Did that once. Then, of course, did the backup HD crash in the middle of rewriting the image After that I do it the ol' fashioned way. Time difference is roughly 1,5-2 hrs as compared to 10 mins for the backup way. Then again, it's Christmas, and I can't seriously say that I don't have time Well, the good news is you can make a backup with clean installs of all the programs, which saved oodles of time. But, same question as to Mike. What program do you use? My comp came with manufacturer software for the purpose, but that doesnt work after I deleted the stupid partition they put in for no good reason. If I remember correctly, I think I used Norton Ghost that came in a bundle when I bought current PC minus 2.
