It was so tempting to jump into the middle of that " Faber ". But I didn't want to ruin it

That was completely unplanned, by the way.

Yuri, you seriously need a hobby! Or at least a PBEM! Or maybe your GFU just needs to shorten your leash...

I should get AE before I PBEM.

So youre saying that blasting is a bad hobby?

No, I'm saying that it's a compulsion , not a hobby! Tell you what , you get AE , and I'll get the damned thing working right , and we can have a re-match. You can then join the long list of players who have kicked my butt!

Time to return to the land of Counterpane

The Land of Counterpane

When I was sick and lay a-bed,
I had two pillows at my head,
And all my toys beside me lay,
To keep me happy all the day.

And sometimes for an hour or so
I watched my leaden soldiers go,
With different uniforms
and drills,
Among the bed-clothes, through the hills;

And sometimes sent my ships in fleets
All up and down among the sheets;
Or brought my trees and houses out,
And planted cities all about.

I was the giant great and still
That sits upon the pillow-hill,
And sees before him, dale and plain,
The pleasant land of counterpane.

by Robert Louis Stevenson

--- A great poem for WitP players methinks.

g'night all

Yuri...

BTW, there was lots and lots of Russians there... nicely dressed women (men not so much but with huge golden wristwatches )...

Also the third language there is clearly Russian - there is German (of course), English and, as a third, Russian (at first I didn't immediately translate to myself what all those "BEHA" signs and books and guides were but then "the lightbulb in my head turned on"...

ZOING!(TM)

Looks like Dixie's and my BoB game is dead. I can't open the save, he can't open the save, and I can't open the autosave either...

Who was winning

By all accounts, I think that both are, if that is possible?

Afternoon Stu!

Honestly, I'd say I was winning. But not by much, T's guys seem to be fairly knackered, although I could be wrong on that front. Although there's been a lot of combat I've still got plenty of reserves. The AS victory is beyond T now, but he's making inroads into the 2nd phase scoring.

Oh, they are most certainly knackered. It's all the nice weather we've seen in recent turns; I can't really afford to waste good flying days.

Hi all,

Here comes another snowstorm tithe...

It was -17 degrees Centigrade yesterday and with 20 cm of snow. Now is already above 0 degrees Centigrade and will reach 10 degrees Centigrade in few hours... it will be 27 degrees difference in just 24+ hours...

Kristian, at least you will have nice white Christmas (and we will have black melted snow mud)...

An actual White Christmas is unlikely. The weather is about to shift into just above freezing tomorrow.

Hi all,

Well... in USA they have lots of snow...

Snow Storm Buries the U.S. East Coast:

quote:

The Mid-Atlantic states were completely white on Sunday, December 20, 2009, in the wake of a record-breaking snow storm. The storm deposited between 12 and 30 inches of snow in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. on December 19, according to the National Weather Service. For many locations, the snowfall totals broke records for the most snow to fall in a single December day.

The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Aqua satellite captured this view of the Chesapeake Bay region as the clouds were clearing on December 20. The snow highlights the courses of the Potomac and Susquehanna Rivers from the Appalachian Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay. The ridges and valleys of the Appalachian Mountains are similarly highlighted. The forested peaks are darker than the snow-covered valleys.

The massive snow storm was a Nor’easter, a powerful storm characterized by a strong low-pressure center that forms in the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean and moves northward up the Eastern seaboard. In the Northern Hemisphere, winds flow in toward the center of a low-pressure area in a counter-clockwise spiral, which means that as the storm heads north, the leading winds come in off the ocean from the northeast.
