Yup. We've done this exercise (with the same scenario) since 2000. Then, it was the original Talonsoft version (OpArt I). Things have evolved since then.

Just to clarify, we don't use it much in planning, more for training & learning the students how to properly employ and use their assets.

I do agree with him in a way. I had all I can take of The Who this past weekend.

I thought The Who's last number, Won't Get Fooled Again, was pretty good. I was also happy to see that the drummer was Zac Starkey, Ringo's boy and who's godfather was Keith Moon. He really plays much more like Keith than his dad.

In basic, mine tormented us with Johnny Horton records. How many times in 24 hours can you stand to hear "Sink the Bismark"?

I suppose the plus side is that I actually like Metallica.

Indeed! But the most important question....never mind the grocery store, did you visit the liqor store?

Hmm...let's see. I have half a bottle of a nice Spanish Rioja, most of a bottle of Kahlua...and if things get very rough most of a bottle of Blackhaus that some friends gave me.

What? A whole 12 inches? How will you ever cope?

Some of us are more used to having 12 inches than others....

Great to hear, MO!  Thanks for passing the word along, and tell that old fart we expect to hear fantastic stories of his flings with Sports Illustrated swimsuit models during his "vacation" when he gets back.

And you really believe those fishtales?

Oh , we are having a blast! No work , and it's great fun to watch people play "bumper-cars" from the "sky-box" (a wall to ceiling glassed in balcony). It's incredibly funny to see people who think they know how to drive in snow getting stuck in SUV's , or losing control because they were going to fast and hitting a police cruiser! That was definately a kodak moment! And the cop was NOT amused either!
Who say's you can't have fun staying home?

They'll never drive in that town again.

Oops! My mistake , I was thinking of NAVY senior NCO's. Ours provide ADULT supervision. I forgot that others merely provide baby sitting services.

And apparently, not a damned thing happened in 512 BC.

Track status of BC 512 from Okinawa (OKA) to Tokyo (HND)
10 Feb 2010 - On schedule
Departure: 10:20 AM, Arrival: 12:35 PM
www.flightstats.com

I looked up 512 BC and this is the first thing that popped up a flight to Tokyo

I concur. I decided that The Thread really has no need to track BD512 from Okinawa to Tokyo, though.

Or as long as youre there, you can get some nice, impressionable 20 year old with DDs to do it for you. That aught to make the day complete.

Ok then, maybe I should tell you that I also have an upcoming survival training exercise in a couple of weeks.

I suspect I have some blisters coming my way then as well ...

What does that involve?

Hey, you're the Air Force so that's quite normal

I heard they get combat pay if the A/C goes out.

Actually not combat pay , but hardship pay. And that's when the cable goes out. No A/C means immediate emergency EVAC. Or else they fly in one of their inflatable tents with A/C, Satillite TV and pool tables.

Never played 3, but from my recollections of 2, there wasnt too much asset use involved and the combat resolution was more like throwing an 8-sided die.

I see I'm unfamiliar with RAF SOP.

So am I . That was USAF. The RAF (like all British armed forces) mainly requires a good bar.

So have I. The NCO is to counter the effects of the Baltimore barge company , the trade school, or crab town U. That's where the torture part comes in. One rememedy for aviation candidates (and anyone else aircrew) is SERE school. That really is torture.
