ORIGINAL: ChickenOfTheSea Are there any B-47's around anymore. My home town was a B-47 base when I was growing up and many of my friends were the kids of pilots and crew. I got to sit in the cockpit of one when I was in 5th grade. They didn't let me take off, though. Sure , many air museums have them. The USAF museum at Wright Patterson AFB , the Museum of Flight at Being field in Seattle , and the SAC Museum in Omaha Nebraska are among three of them. I'm sure there are others , I recall seeing several as "gate sentries" at USAF bases I went to in the 1980's. You might watch for Jimmy Stewart's Stragetic Air Command movie as there are a lot of B-47 (and B-36) shots , internal as well as external. I can confirm that the National Museum of USAF in Dayton, Ohio has both the B-47 and the B-58, plus many of the WiTP planes. I was there last April on a hometown visit.
