Back from another glorious trip

Where from Martin?

Do I really need to tell you? It's sandy, hot and has featured in Rambo III and The Living Daylights...

I spent 21 of the last 28 hours in the air

I know you were there... we wrote about it on Saturday / Sunday... but I thought you were back already...

I was, and I went back again last night Join the RAF and see the world* It seems that there are some rather unpleasant gentlemen in that particular region of the world and things have come to an unfortunate outburst of fisticuffs

*Either from 30k feet or just the hot, sandy parts of it.

Ahhh...

I can't complain really, I knew what I was getting into when I joined. I just don't understand why the baddies al seem to live in deserts these days? What is wrong with secret volcano lairs? Or tropical islands?

Well thank you Dixie for watching over us all ! We appreciate it.

Hey guys, what's better, Vista basic or premium? The costs are $130 and $160.

Ultimate and Business are the only ones that can run in a virtual machine. That settled it for me.

My wife's laptop came with Vista Personal, but other than that, I've avoided using it so far. Knock wood.

Mike, assuming your son actually wanted the Mac, he'll likely use that most of the time. 50 Gb should be plenty for a Windows partition.

Hello gentlemen,
I am taking my turn tonight to spend with my Dad at the hospice facility.  He is getting very weak now and his passing will be a blessing as it is getting harder for the nurses to keep him comfortable.  They believe that the cancer is probably spreading into his lower spine by the way he is responding.  He can no longer see, swallow or speak.  He last ate on Friday and drank any water on Saturday.  All I can do now is talk to him and pray with him now, It seems to calm him.  Thanks again for all your prayers and support.  You just don't know how comforting it is for me.

Andy

Andy, it is our good fortune to be able to provide any support at all to you.

Talking with your Dad, and being with him is all he needs now.  I hope his passing is as peaceful as it can be for him, and for your family.

Don't. Just get VMware Fusion or Parallels and run Windows in a virtual machine. Works great!

Note as I said before, only Ultimate and Business are licensed for such. Vista Ultimate is not much more than premium.

Andy,

My prayers are with you and your father. Your presence there with him is as great a comfort as the prayers I am sure.

As another who's lost a parent to cancer, and seen what the last stages of that insidious disease is like, I hope he passes quickly and quietly. Best wishes to you and your family.
