lol......

man has a point.

nipplephobia maybe.

I have to admit though.....if i have to choose my friday night drinking movie...i'd probably have to go with Tarantino's movie over Valkerie. I can't scrape up the interest in watching Tom Cruise portraying Tom Cruise pretending to be a German Officer.

Thank god for Netflix!

Tonight it's Dexter Season 3

Have all you guys used the patch?  I'm waiting for the final to come out, but then, I'm also not playing the game yet either.

Spammer!

I've downloaded the patch, but not installed it yet.

I'm thinking about doing two 70.3 Ironmans in preparation, what do you think, my dear spammer?

If you are able to spread them out far enough in advance of next November, then I think it's a great idea. You'll really get a good appreciation of what the full 140.6 distance will be like when you realize you only completed half of it and you're exhausted.

Aim for one 2-3 months prior to IMFla, and maybe one 4-6 months before. You want 2 months in between for recovery and then getting your training ramped back up.

Torsten, check out this website. I've made a bunch of great friends there, and travelled to race with some of them. Great, great, great resources for all aspects of being an endurance athlete.

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/

Thanks for the hint!

I'm planning for 70.3 Austria on 30. May 2010 and 70.3 Germany on 15. August. The distance isn't that impressive any more. On monday, I was cycling 100km and running 12km afterwards. I was sure to be able to run the 9km left for 70.3.
The time would've been bad, but I have no doubt that I'm able to complete it successfully!

I was curious because it obviously involves Nazis and i recalled that the original Steel Panthers had to be modified to get rid of the nazi war flag for the German version. So it made me wonder if the German government might react badly to the movie given there's alot more in it than just flags!

(well it IS Tarantino.......he's a wierd one.....the only common denominator in his movies is the comic book level violence. Can you say "Kill Bill" twice? (though anything with David Carradine in it is automatically cool. ))

Indeed, Tarantino is not ever to be taken seriously. I've only seen the TV ads for "Bastards", but it looks funny to me, and I'd like to see it. I can't say if it's anti-German racist or not yet, but I'd be willing to bet Tarantino is actually taking a poke at people who really are racist.

Pulp Fiction, one of my very favorite movies, was full of gangsters and drug users, but look how he treated them. Maybe some don't get Pulp Fiction, but I find it hilarious.

I've said this was backwards in the US for years.

Yup.....anyone who takes his movies seriously needs a head check. (though i did have someone who, on noticing the "war book" i was reading, told me excitedly about the upcoming Tarantino film and asked if there really was a team that had been recruited and dropped into France during WWII to kill Nazis in the most gruesome ways possible. It took me a minute to find my voice and not burst out laughing.)

GF unit loves it. If GF unit loves it.....it must be good. Well, i like it too. Its witty and funny. A unique "spin" on the serial killer story. We also picked up season 6 of NCIS. House Season 5 is next!!!

But he has no personality. Dexter is a caricature, a cardboard cutout. There's nothing there.

well duh....he's a sociopath!

But he's starting to get more complex as his experiences continue to rock his world. Its that interaction with the "normal" world that makes the show funny. (and creepy at times)

That's my point: he's a caricature of a sociopathic serial killer, and he's also the show's protagonist/anti-hero, and therefore supposed to be someone I can understand and empathize with. But there's nothing there.

best episode was the one where Mal and Wash are captured and while they're being tortured, they continue to argue with each other over their relationship with Zoe (in between screaming sessions that is)...totally ignoring their interegator.

GF and I were rolling on the floor.

yeah And Wash cried out that Mal should've slept with her - his wife...

Or think about the impressive cap of Jayne...
Or the coffin (Others send each others presents - you recieve a dead person)
Or when Mal kicked the one bandit into the engine and started to ask the other one and he "It's fine to me, The money is back, all fine"...
Every episode is sooo great...

I guess I have to go to my DVD collection, now...

Thats the point. Your not exactly supposed to understand or emphathize with him. Not at first at least. Its a show that challenges your perceptions and makes you think. The writing is excellent in my opinion.

+ being a Showtime series....you get NIPPLES too.

No, it's a show that uses cheap tricks to draw in ratings. "Oooh, look! Our main character is a serial killer! But he only kills BAD guys who really DESERVE it!"... Sheesh...

Not saying you're wrong (though you are), but I don't like it at all.

nope. GF unit don't get drawn in by cheap tricks, nor does she like Cheap Trick. We like. (though i won't be buying the series.)

Want to see Torchwood.

That somehow works for me, even though it's a little too Politically Correct.

Torchwood, not the Martian Number of The Beast.

Just watching a doku about the great white... One men fishing was out with his Kajak and was traced for 45min by a 6m long great wite. It even put its head on the end of the Kajak to take a closer look...

Is the swimming route in florida saved with nets?
