NO! THEY MUST ALL BE KILLED!!

For every single remake made in Hollywood since 1985, the director and all producers must be put in front of firing squads. Right now!

Smacks a little of post-facto rationalization. "Nonono, there really WAS a serious point to Red Dawn". And they're not making a sequel, but a remake; and they must all die for it.

It's just laziness, "we can't be arsed to think of a new idea so we'll do a remake of an old film".

I get that whole feeling about every single remake ever. If the writers etc are any good they'll be able to think of their own ideas instead of ripping off ideas from the 50s/60s/70s/80s.

Actually heard one of the writers discuss this movie a while back. He said the intent was completely misinterpreted when people took it literally. It was more intended to communicate the effect of being invaded and occupied in a way that American's could understand better.

And here i thought it was just a quick cheesy way to make a buck.

Silly intellectual......I KILL U!

Subject line reset. After someone (especially the someone who worships wood!) %%^&**&^%$$'s the subject line, it's the next threadster's sworn duty to reset it. Hence , SLR usually accompanied by the police smiley , or the guard smiley.

I have a question for the Threadsters whose nations are taking part in the World Cup (or have taken part), is there as much media attention on your nations as there seems to be on the England team? Despite the fact that as a nation we are just a quarter final quality team at best there always seems to be an expectation of great things at every tournament.

Does the Danish/French/US/Croatian/Australian/Swedish press get so overexcited about the chances of their team? Admitidly the French national team are probably better than England in recent years, and the US team probably doesn't get much coverage over there.

Whats a world cup? Sounds pretty big can it hold 3 liters of soda? Yeah world cup coverage is pretty much nil here.

Even here in Kasey Keller's hometown, World Cup Fever is fairly low key. It's nothing like the buzz over the Super Bowl or the World Series, though it certainly receives more attention than the NHL or NBA playoffs...
