How could trying acupuncture hurt? It's not like anything else is working. You should be able to find a quality specialist in your area. Do your research though. There are plenty of quacks out there.

thats why i was hesitant. I've been to a dozen Chiropractors though the years and only ONE knew his stuff and got results. Regrettably he lives in my hometown so after i moved to Seattle i lost his services. Every one since that one guy has been nothing but a "back-cracker" with no results or worse....increased pain from the cracking.

My best friend's father was a chiropractor and instructed me that there are two different schools of chiropractic. His was not the 'cracker' type, but rather relies on pressure mostly. I'll ask my wife what the organization is and let you know. You can hunt one down in your area.

ANY pain is not fun.

Defenitly NO!
There's no joy bigger than hurting muscles after and while doing a hard workout in the gym or after haveing cycled >100km!

Yes. Thats a big part of what confounded the doctors. My pain is not action oriented. Its in-action oriented, meaning that i'm in the most discomfort when i'm immobile (sitting or laying down) Exercise actually relieves the pain and sciatica down both legs.

Whenever i'd see a doc, and explain the situation they'd all get that same puzzled look on their face to the point where i could read their thought processes.

ok....he's young (at the time....not so young anymore!), he's fit looking and HWP......he can do all the stretches and exercises i put him though.......its either all in his head or he's fishing for prescription meds.

yeah right..... Ultimately around beginning of this decade, after years of pain at work and at home in bed or in front of the computer it just went into remission on it's own....till recently. Now its back. man i don't want to go through that, popping 3000+ mg's of IBU again. yummy for the tummy.

To be honest, I don't really understand much of what you've said

I have a deferred dorsal and after a soccer training, I wasn't even able to tying my shoes. Any movement in the back caused horrible pains - as you might guess... Meanwhile, I do Good Mornings with 150kg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3IshlFzKt8 and deadlifts with 120kg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69gBAtIW7EU

And the pain only came back when I wasn't in gym for over a year!

If it affects your quality of live that much, you should really take the time to do workouts!

It doesn't hurt while he's exercising, only when he's not.

lol, well i hope someday to be able to converse in your native language. (if i can find the money and the time)

In summary....my back pain has no definate cause. There's no injury, no condition found, and no restriction of movement or motion. I'm an "enigma" as one doctor called it.

I do workout. I also bike ride, hike and ride the Black Mare of Death.

You have to become a pro! How old are you?
One can even become a boxing pro when over 30!

I'd love to be able to go riding more. Once you've been riding in Montana though, riding around a stable just doesn't cut it.

Indeed! I never found something interesting in riding around in an enclosed riding area.
When we raised horses, I loved to go riding - but always into the nature...

Sometimes I feel like my bicycle is trying to do the same thing.
