I got a good smack from an aircraft towing arm.  Last thing in the morning on one of our night shifts we had an aircraft going out.  When the jet was on the taxiway we had to disconnect the towing arm from the aircraft tug before taking it off the undercarriage and then taking out the safety locks.  But someone took out the safety locks whilst I was trying to disconnect the tug, the nose wheel wasn'y straight so when the towing arm was disconnected from the tug the undercarriage straighten itself up with the towbar attached.  It smacked me in the chest and lifted me off the ground before dumping me a few feet away.
Apart from a nice bruise and a few aches I got away ok, the last person it happened to got a broken leg for his troubles.

I woke up this morning with dried salt in my hair and rum in my blood stream.

Sara is working and catching up with the staff here from 9 - 12, then it's time for lunch and more beach.

Did Flipper bring you back after you fell off the pier?

No, my hero rescued me, Captain Morgan.

You were doing that raised knee thing when you posted that, wernt you?

I've got first hand experience of that, I got a really painful bruise the other week...

Getting smacked by Ms. Dixie does NOT count as in the line of duty.

I had a drill-round ASW mortar bomb fall on my foot. Fortunately I was wearing my steel toe-capped bots at the time, not the normal Med-style pirate rig we normally wore.

Does not wearing an eye-patch make one "scantily clad"?

Nice storys @all.

Myself was nearly bruised between a trailer and a wall because my brainless, idiotic comrades pushed this damned thing forward without looking!

All that sounds funny, but you can see how easy you can get hurt/killed even with NO Enemy in sight.

You know, I would have never thought of that.... How long were your eyes out of commission afterwards? Was it akin to getting blasted all over again?

Well, there was a reason we weren't told... The people who'd done it before us didn't want us to miss out on the experience...
