There's a quote about that but I don't want to offend Eric. Again.

Hey guys, has there been another patch?

There is a new beta patch making the rounds of the brave hearted. Other than that, the last AE patch was v1.01.02a from 3 MAR 2010.

Ahh, thanks Mike. Any idea on what's new in the beta?

I read through the list of changes, but am waiting for the next official release. There should still be a thread about it on the main AE forum.

Victory has only 3 masts and a bow sprit and you can see them all in that pic.

Steve,

You sure are doing a lot of talking this morning. Have you finished your turn and sent it back yet?

Priorities, man!

Turn sent. Can I go back to work now? (That's a hint---send me a turn , so I don't have to go back!)

I was a Chief Petty Officer

WIth my previous post in mind, I'll also admit that this draws an almost complete blank for me ...

i must admit that i hate all of you: i was most of the time a simple rank soldier, obeying orders from pettys officers.
And then suddenly i was officer (well, in fact "reserve officer") and still suddenly dismissed (for wound).
So i don't know exactly what to think

I'm a nobody I'm somewhere between a pvt and a cpl (or lance cpl but they don't have them in the RAF). But I'm expected to work with minimal supervision and think for myself a lot more than the brown jobs. And I get paid a lot more

You are the backbone of any military (Excepting the Swedish,Russian, and Israeli----at least to my knowledge) you are an NCO. Be proud of it! Nothing happens till an NCO makes it happen! Officers order, junior personnel carry out the orders, but NCO's make it happen , and happen correctly! They are a cross between nursing home attendants (for the officers, especially senior ones) and babysitter/nursemaids (for Junior personnel) and most of all , nannies for the junior officers!

I'm not an NCO I'm one of the 'other ranks'. An airman

Oh. Then get to work , peon! Obviously I'm kidding. As such a bright , talented young man , your'e obviously bound for membership in the "future NCO's of the UK". Either that , or Parliment, which is just down-right scarey!

Thanks for info per!

BTW, you are colonel now - right?

Leo "Apollo11"

I'm a liutenant colonel, not a full colonel. That is one other thing I've noticed as a (military) cultural difference. Foreigners seems to bunch LtCol and Col into "the same thing". I've been adressed as colonel numerous times by non-swedish militaries. That would never happen here, as there is (to us) a world of difference between full colonels and liutenant colonels.

In the US military it's seen as a courtsey. Lt.Comander is addressed as Commander, a Junior grade Lt. is addressed as Lt. Any grade of General is called General, as is Admiral. All NCO's (except USN/USCG Chiefs) are called sargeant or Petty Officer, depending on which is approriate. With the sea services , you generally call a chief chief, senior chief or master chief. Although it's acceptable to call a senior chief "senior" , I don't know any one who has ever called a masterchief "master" .(Nor do I want to know) Land services have particular honorific's like chief (USAF Chief Master sargeant) or "top".

Ok, that clears it up a bit. The only ones we "bunch together" when adressing them are the generals.

Alliance, along with an X-craft is on the other side of Portsmouth Harbour at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum. Holland 1 is there too and a Biber. It's on the site of Fort Blockhouse which used to be HMS Dolhpin, the RN Submarine Scool.
Also over there at Priddy's Hard is the RN explosives museum.

HMS Belfast is part of the Imperial War Museum and is in London.

HMS Plymouth looks like she's in trouble.

Poor old Unicorn was scrapped in '59.

The Hind is a replica.

HMS Cavalier is at Chatham. When I joined the RN she was still afloat in Plymouth Sound, along with the Eagle.

Liverpool has a maritime museum

If I find anything else I'll let you know.

IIRC, you still have HMS Caroline afloat as well yes? The last surviving major member of the Grand Fleet (per DK Brown) still afloat and used as a cadet bunkhouse. Heavily modified over the years but still recognizable as an WWI CL.

The patch to which Mike (other Mike) referred is indeed the latest official patch per se. There have been a couple hotfixes in the interim that have been useful to people bit by certain organizational building bugs too.

I'd forgotten you can still go and see parts of the High Seas Fleet at Scapa Flow. I should have remembered as I lived there for 4 years!

And this is such a great book about its salvage. I have a copy somewhere. It's still in print, here!

Simon kicked my fanny in 3 out of four PBEM's. I learned a great deal from him (as he and Bobo were the 1st two guys to play against me , and I consider them both very, very good. Like any good sensi/teacher , you live for the day that you are as good as they are. ) I consider Simon to be in the "Masters" level, if indeed not "Grand Masters". I would very much like to be beaten by him again...each time he beats me, and I get better.

While Simon is very good, you are merely a very lucky punk! Even with all your special conditions, rules, plans, bravado and trash talking , you know that I'm just getting my act together. Soon I'll have my ships, squadrons, and people assembled and trained, then I'll be coming for you PUNK! I'm glad your lucky, you'll need it! Do you feel lucky,Punk?! Real, real lucky?

Soon it will be time to de-bone and BBQ the CHICKEN!

Chicken fingers, chicken nuggets,chicken golash.......

I'm a patient man. However, I may not have the same longevity in my family as you may in yours. Do try to get your act together sometime in the next 10-12 years, won't you please?

OK. I'll conceede the trash talking title to you.....this time ! But to answer your earlier question , No I don't hate you, or Simon either......but I am very annoyed with you. I hadn't realized how much this new strategy of yours would be iritating! Sort of like being nibbled to death by ducks! You've sunk nearly 150 ships, and have amassed a total of what ? 750 points? You could have done that with 2 battleships! I'll really look forward to that "debriefing " we talked about.
