I have somewhere a book (in english please !) about the war on see at the age of sail.
I don't have the details in mind, but the number of ships having changed flag after a battle is really big !

If you could tell me the name, I'd be very grateful. I'm looking for my next read.

"NAVAL WARFARE IN THE AGE OF SAIL"
Evolution of fighting tactics
1650-1815

By Brian Tunstall
Edited by Dr Nicholas Tracy
editor Conway

huge, expensive, but great.
Funnily, as i used this book 15 years ago for my master of history, i don't remenber exactly what i learned from it.

I could also give advice about
"The military Revolution" by i don't remenber who....
I could not find this book in the 600 kg (1200 lb) i have at home ( honest and i swear it's true, we had counting the weight when we changed home 4 years ago).

Here you go !

Victory has only 3 masts and a bow sprit and you can see them all in that pic.

I meant the upper parts of the mast. I have them in the photo.

Of course she could. It's right in her name, "Victory". Says it all...

Starting with her feet is an old man-eating monster trick. That way, she stays alive long enough to enjoy the experience...

Always the way. Servicemen are only heroes when:
1. there's a war on. As soon as it stops the public don't care. Or
2. there's nothing more interesting to read/watch/gossip about.

No problems finding homes ...

Hmmm ... concerning eating brits - this could score someone extra geek points; This particular puppys name in swedish would most closely translate into "Grue" ...

<leaning back and waiting for the first geek to spot the reference>

You are all sad geeks, where as I am suave, debonair and an all-round good egg. And a snappy dresser to boot.
