Post high school reunion tithe. It was really fun and interesting to see old classmates from 40+ years ago, but the old familiar high school rituals surfaced on cue once the initial greetings were exchanged.

Cliques began forming almost immediately. Of course large quanities of free beer were consumed (not that there's anything wrong with that). However, peace prevailed throughout the evening and no nerds were harmed during the proceedings.

One girl could not enter the main area because a former boyfriend was there and it apparently would have been the greatest of embarasments had they made visual contact. She was subsequently cacooned by her girlfirends, thus avoiding the insentitive cad, while in turn making herself completely isolated from anyone else.

Biker dudes and chicks roared onto the scene. Eventually doobies were lit as darkness settled and the music blared even louder. The hottest of the former hot chicks arrived fashionably late, wearing skin-tight, low-cut, breastage-revealing outfits, in desparate attempts to recaputure the glory of yesteryear.

Yes, nothing like a high school reunion to confirm that my path of non-conformity has been well rewarded. I was constantly reminded of the old proverb: "There but for the grace of God go I". Thus I am ever grateful to Belmont High.

I have managed to avoid my 5 year and 10 year reunions so far of course if I want a spontaneous reunion I can visit several watering holes in my old city or in Boston and find former classmates.

The only reunion I heard about was our 20th several years ago. I decided to get married that weekend instead.

I had my first sub on sub action in my AI game yesterday.

Sadly, it was one of my S-boats that ate a Japanese fish.

Your plan is superior, I admit. My problem is that I left my hometown after graduating college, so I had no contact with anyone (except my best friend in high school) for 35 years.

So after catching up with a few classmates on Facebook, the best way to see all of them at once was through this reunion. I had a great time with the Facebook group, but the real entertainment was observing how the vast majority had managed to change physically without changing at all mentally.

Hmmm, Clare has said I can get Josh a trainset.  He's probably a bit young for one but it'll give me time to, er, test it   Or maybe she thinks she's calling my bluff?

Martin, it does take a while to get everything set up and running the way you want it ..... for Josh.

Exactly what I was thinking. I'd need to make sure that the track was laid properly and the electrics are all connected correctly. Then I'd need to run in all the train motors. I can imagine CLare's face if she came home and found a miniature Flying Scotsman travelling along a scale replica of the London to Glasgow rail line

My 20th reunion reminded me of the line from Gross Point Blank . . . "It was as if everyone had swelled". Other than that, a pretty good time.
