I'm not part of your fleet air arm. In the USN the aviaton folks didn't form their own service. We simply took over the USN!

If you really want , the correct term would be "airdales". Or "brown shoes". Or sir, your grace, your highness..........

Nothing wrong with percussion maintenance.

Do it all the time

Mallets, screwdrivers, torches, boots, chocks they're all useful for particular tasks and adjustments
