The details are amazing and later moves by the AI are improving. I lost Wake island after repeatedly trying to defend it, when the Japanese brought up overwhelming force. And the Japanese are running Patrols around the PI now with multiple Battleships. I can no longer raid shipping in the PI and the nearby areas. I could force a Coral Sea scenario right now but I don't trust the randomness of a carrier attack. I have three carriers refueling at Sydney and the Japanese have two carriers off the coast of Rabaul. The odds really aren't that bad, but I am not reloading saves and I am going to play safe. I need to think this over. Those two carriers were part of the KB and I have no idea where the other four are located. This is a whole lot more fun that stock WiTP. Anyway, like you, the Japanese in my game have split their carriers up.

I've noticed that in carrier based airstrikes, I see "Akagi Kate", "Kaga Val", etc, etc when they are attacking my planes. Based on that kind of info, the TF south of Kandari is the main strike force of CV's, probably from Eniwetok or Truk since I spotted them headed west approaching New Guinea (still have patrol planes at Amboina and Kendari). I have no idea what's in that Luzon force, I've only seen Kates attacking so figure it's another CVL. The MSF might have all six CV's in it; when I put my cursor on them I get a rough # of planes and it seems about right for six still. That means my CV's in the Central Pac don't have any friends to play with right now!

Dec 8th, which is the first turn for me since I usually go with the scenario that starts on that day. Currently playing Japan vs AI until I start my PBEM's.

I've done lots of restarts and still getting a handle on the new features. Great work from what I see so far, I didn't expect this many changes/enhancements. Also another cheer to the inclusion of WitpStaff, what a wonderful utility.

Thanks to everyone who gave up their time on this one

When you gonna start PBEM?

I think he's throwing down the gauntlet.

You'll have your chance at the Emperor's fleet very soon my friend. Still struggling with the new transport system, I want to make sure you have a target rich environment.

I haven't played as the Allies but a few testing turns so it will be an even match - except for my superior strategic mind!

I'm now at Feb 26th '42, playing every day for about 10 hours a day (I am truly addicted). The house is starting to smell bad - and I guess I am too

Lost midway after a second invasion. :-(

Fortifying Shortlands early on seems to have thrown the AI a curve ball because it keeps losing transports (avg 5 per day) trying to land all around me (and it invaded Shortlands directly but I had 6 different combat units there). And Rabaul can't get decent supply/troops/planes so Betty attacks have been minimal. God bless these two Banshee squadrons stationed there.

I am still on Dec 8th. Pondering my move as the Japanese. I will hit the " turn ended " button in another couple of weeks I think.
