I sent my PT boats roaming north of PH on 8 Dec to see if I could scare up the IJN task force. One of my groups managed to intercept them and the PTs forced a night surface engagement. My PTs didn't score any hits and I lost two.

As soon as the battle resolution screen comes up... All of a sudden I have a seductive oriental womans voice in my ear (I wear headphones). After the battle I was surprised and delighted to hear Tokyo Rose making fun of my inept attempt against the mighty IJN! Nice touch!

Gave me a good laugh. Thanks!

I too love the Tokyo Rose bit, a real classy addition to the game...adds a lot of atmosphere.  I nearly fell off my seat the first time I heard her lambasting my defeat off Singapore!

I just ran my first turn last night, and at Pearl an 800kg bomb hit a PT boat.  I said to myself "that things toast" and the message that came up said something along the lines of "PT 22 was obliterated!"  I laughed then cried.  I need to slow down the messages I think.  I'm sure there are more eggs like these.

Maybe we should make this the egg thread.

Hehe, nice touch, but 12-41 is a bit early for Tokyo Rose...those broadcasts didn't start till 1943 IIRC.

Here are a couple that I have found. While playing the grand campaign as Japan against the AI a cruiser force of mine attacked and sank a pair of modest-sized transports near Rabaul in late December '41. Tokyo Rose immediately came on the air and said...well, I actually don't want to spoil it, but it was so funny my wife came over to find out why I was laughing so hard.

Playing as Japan in a Guadalcanal scenario PBEM one of my submarines recently took a shot at - and missed - the large AP "President Wilkerson."

There was one hit message I seen and I am trying to remember it. Something like wolloped or something to that effect :)

I had a CM totally wolloped with one hit from Hyruna :)

1 hit one death was over before the screen stopped loading.

Task force at 10,000 yards

Wallop hahaha I don;t think wallop is the right word but smacked, slapped down something.
